Giveaway and Release Day Party for Claimed by Dragons by Katalina Leon and Amber Skyze

Welcome to the Release Party of Claimed by Dragons!!  I can't wait to read this book because it looks absolutely fabulous, just like the rest of the series!!  So what is a party without music?  Not one at all!!  Katalina is down with her top ten hits to keep this party rolling:
I have to listen to music when I write, it’ not an option, it’s a must! I prefer moody instrumental soundtracks when I’m actually writing, but I listen to and love all this stuff too, when ever I need a little break.
Best song to get into the mood with:
U2 “If You Wear that Velvet Dress”

Best song to do a private Striptease to:
Nine Inch Nails “Sunspots”
(You’ll swear you were wearing clothes before the music started)
Best song to feel empowered by:
Kelly Clarkson “What Doesn’t Kill You”
Best song to remember your “Ex” by:
Gun N’ Roses “Sweet Child Of Mine”
Best song to shape shift to:
TV On The Radio “Wolf Like Me”

Best song to drive too fast to;
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds aka “What A Life”
Best Music to enjoy a sweet cry: Ludovico Einaudi Doctor Zhivago BBC soundtrack  “Writing Poems”

Best song to feel fully alive to: One Giant Leap “Daphne”
(Give this gorgeous piece of music a chance it unfolds slowly and travels through several soaring transitions.)
Best Music to give yourself the creeps:
Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross “She Reminds Me of You”
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo soundtrack:
Best song to make me wish I’d taken guitar lessons more seriously:
Led Zeppelin’s ”Ten Years Gone”
What a great selection!!  Now let's take a look at this hot little numbers book details:
Blurb for “Claimed By Dragons”
In an odd Wiccan shop in Salem, Jael pulls an unusual stone from a witch’s wish bag. Little does she know her wildest dreams of adventure and a torrid affair with two gorgeous co-workers are about to come true—in spades.

Jael’s dreamy boss, Roarke offers her the assignment of a lifetime: a photo safari to Mount Kilimanjaro. The African scenery is stunning but the unexpected arrival of her two office crushes, Roarke and Kypton ignites her passion. Just as the trio is getting steamy at a beautiful waterfall, danger intervenes forcing the men to reveal their secret. They're dragons. And now, to save her life, they have no choice but to abduct a startled Jael to their mountain lair on Kilimanjaro.

In the dragons' love nest, Jael learns the truth about their origins and explores all the erotic possibilities two eager lovers can offer. Love awakens, but the guys are being stalked by a covert group of dragon hunters and withholding a life or death secret that will push Jael’s courageous heart and commitment to the limits.
Warning: Story contains gorgeous male dragon shifters eager to mate, lots of hot male action between two loving men, scorching ménage with one lucky woman, anal play for all, and polyandry with a happy ending. What more do you want? : )

  16. I love your list.

I decided on dragons because they're mystical creatures. You can create such a depth with them, which Kat and I did.

Believe me, it's nothing like you've seen or read before. :)

  19. Hi Amber.
Since I love all things dragons, I'm very happy to see this book come out. It just went to the TOP of my wishlist. My question for you is: Do you plan to write any more dragon stories, and if so will they be set in the "Bag of Tricks" world? Thanks for the chance to win. If I don't win, I'll be definitely buying this book soon. :)

  24. Cassandra, it's hard to say which book of mine to read first. All are stand alones and my newest book is always my favorite! I guess I'd need to know what you like because I write in a few sub genres of erotic romanic.
In the Bag of Tricks series your choices are
The Strix=Vampire gladiator time travelers sweaty-fresh from the arenas of ancient Pompeii.
OR Claimed By Dragons=two gorgeous male dragon-shifts, lots of hot M/M and a lucky woman who get them both at the same time.
    You choose. : )

  26. Dusty Kat, hello sister kitty Kat!
I was well into my forties when I started writing. I had another career and it just hit me one day that I HAD to write. I had no experience and no real skills, so it was writer's bootcamp all the way, but I'm so glad I accepted the challenge. I absolutely love having this venue to express myself. Its a joy.

  27. Dovile, I've never written fan fiction, but I am a huge fan!
In my other life, I was a painter and I would have "fans" imitate and reproduce my work and show it around. It was both flattering and strange. I never quite came to grips with it.
I was also mentor and teacher and I always encouraged my students to take chances and follow their own hearts. Everyone has beauty locked inside that only they can bring into the world.

When I'm writing erotic romance, I cannot read erotic-romance. It's a terrible workplace hazard. I liken it to working in a chocolate factory and needing a break from chocolate (God forbid!)
I love reading history, biographies and science fiction. All grist for the mill. A writer has to restock ideas.

  30. MCV, I hope you'll give Claimed By Dragons a try. Amber Skyze and I really tried to bring a few new things to a growing sub-genre. I absolutely fell in love with our "Marduko Dragons" These are big robust dragons you ride on, or enjoy a double dutch treat with. Ladies choice! : )

    ReplyDelete
  31. Bettycd, I always have a number of books in the WIP stage and I trade off between them. When I get stuck, I close a WIP and open a new one. Often changing horses three times a day. I call it my "Carousel of Chaos".
On the near horizon, there are two more books in the Bag Of Tricks series and a new fantasy paranormal series for Ellora's Cave that I am working on with eight other authors, plus a number of shorter stand alone books. It does get complicated! : )

    ReplyDelete
  32. Kaylyn, I'll send Amber over to answer your question.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thank you Joy! Actually I have a question for you:
What is your favorite sub genre to read, and why?

    ReplyDelete
  34. ReneAva, Why menage? Take your pulse woman! lol
Personally my mind has wandered toward the idea of wouldn't it be great to enjoy one hot lover and then do it all again with another?
I don't care what men say. Woman are the sexual powerhouses of the species. Clinical studies show (Do you like that I'm justifying myself here with dry statics?) That an aroused woman needs about five orgasms to fully put out the flames and make her call it a day. How many orgasms in a row does the average guy have in him at the end of a long workday?
See? Menage is a practical fantasy and the math adds up. Two men+one woman means she'll almost get enough! : )

  39. Funinmental, the dragon-shifter theme was Amber's choice. After we started writing I realized how much the dragon-shifter market had grown. It's almost it's own sub-genre beside Wolf-shifters. I was surprised.
I REALLY enjoied diving into this world and falling in love with it. Now I want my own dragons! : )

I learn best alone, with at home tutorials and beta readers to help. That worked for me.

  41. bas1chs, I chose the vampire/ gladiator theme for book one and as I said Amber chose dragons for book two.
We loved creating a believable situation where modern humans and dragons could exist.
I really enjoyed exploring all the advantages of being with dragon lovers. Cozy mountain dragon lairs and free airfare is high on the list.

  60. CLAIMED BY DRAGONS sounds fantastic--the promise of hot m/m and m/m/f is a thrill! How do you approach your menage writing, as opposed to straight m/f or m/m?

  61. Happy Release Day Amber & Kat!! I'm going to be reading Claimed by Dragons tonight!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Vitajex. I try to make any character I write either male or female a 3 dimensional person with quirks and strengths. Once I've done that I enjoy letting the character's sexuality unfold. The characters always surprise me. The publicly meek can become dominant in the bedroom. The harsh can be become tender.
I try to remember that male or female, gay, straight or bi-sexual I'm always dealing with a human being and not a paper doll.

I love the Bronte sisters, George Orwell, Philip K Dick, Laura Kinsale, Jim Butcher, Ray Bradbury and a hundred others. I can't even start in on the romance authors, the list is too long.

    ReplyDelete
  67. vadeluna07
I love the Bronte sisters because they were able to innovate and write exciting fiction despite living such sheltered lives; they were big souls in small bodies.
George Orwell, Philip K Dick, Ray Bradbury are sci-fi favorites. I love too many Romance authors to name, but Laura Kinsale was the first to hook me-I lost my romance novel virginity to her. : )

  68. How long does it generally take for you to complete a book? I can't wait to read this book!!

It really varies for me. I've completed novellas in two weeks while other WIPs are taking two years! For a full length novel the size of The Strix (83k) I spent 3 months on it-before edits. It actually started as a one month Nano project last year, and grew and grew...

  70. So much now with vampires and werewolves, Why Dragons?
    seyma_bennett@hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  71. Seyma, Why dragons? Because there is so much about vampires and werewolves now! : )
"The Strix" book 1 in the Bag Of Tricks series does have vampires.
We wanted the heroines in every book in this series to be granted a truly unexpected wish. Each woman finds true love and gets a big surprise she never saw coming.
Have you seen the book trailer? It's really fun.

  73. My question has already been asked. Why dragons? I think they are beautiful mystical creatures myself. I read one dragon book that kinda turned me off them as romance books though. I will definitely have to try your series to see if I can get back into them :)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Rhonda,
I'll admit writing about dragons wasn't my first choice of a shifter, because I'd never read a dragon-shifter novel. But once I accepted that our male dragons were simply outsiders and loving beings with a secret to hide, I really got into it. At that point dragons became an analogy for being different sexually and living an alternative lifestyle. Almost a forbidden love.

  75. What or who inspired you to start writing? Who is your favorite paranormal romance author?

Wow, that's a great question. I'm going to look back to my youth and name Marianne Zimmer-Bradley, "The Mists of Avalon" in particular. When I first read her books, I was blown away by the beauty and solid sense of reality she built into her fictional worlds.
Of living paranormal authors the field of favorites is vast. This is the golden age of paranormal fiction and their are so many talented authors out there that my poor eyes can't read quickly enough!
