Hello my minions...Did you miss me? I have certainly missed you!!
I'll be doing some catch up posts soon so we can see who actually is still with me. I hope that everyone that gets this email still remembers me. So..new graphics soooon. This will be done by yours truly, so it'll be a little slower. Hey ruling the underworld is time consuming, but we will come back to that a little later.
So those of you that are new minions...what's up? I just came back from a new con :Literary Love, reunited with some old friends and made some new ones to drag down here in my pit!! It got me jump started to wanting to write again and who knew? A new genre has peeked in my absence, which by the way, is right up my alley. Being a forward reader, I'm still waiting for this to be legalized....but it doesn't look like in my lifetime, though I was always told to dream big. I'm quite positive when I was told big it wasn't referring to my men or having my own harem
So what is the appeal? So many man and women just devoted to one person? Well, if that person is you then its an absolute pleasure. So for my first new slaves......errrrrr guests? Dagmar Avery and Kay Margret. I love reading a book with a duo can flawlessly merge two completely different writing styles and just let it flow so perfectly. So let's take a look at Slumber:
Once upon a time a princess was betrayed, and her kingdom was stolen from her. She hid her most precious object in the human world, a princess of the blood, in the hopes that the Sleeping Court would get a chance to take their rightful place as high court in the realm Faerie.
Now, a new generation has come of age, and the crown must be passed. The reigning Queen’s daughter will claim the throne uncontested unless those that remember, and waited to awaken the wayward princess can ally with her.
But as with all tales of Faerie, it is not without peril, danger and intrigues. For our sleeping princess must awaken, choose her guard wisely, one that will help her save all her allies and avenge her family.
Or will history repeat itself?
So, it starts off with Verity. She was raised in the human realm, practically invisible, as an orphan who had an amazing ability to create. Unfortunately this lovely lady, like the vast majority of the talented mortals, has been scraping by for the better part of her life. But that all changes when a car with the most unusual driver comes looking for her.
Is this like a fairy tale? To me...hell yes. Living alone for most of my life, I felt an instant kinship with this lost soul who has beautiful dreams of a garden filled with people that love her. The shocker comes into play when the people she has been dreaming about finally step out of the shadows and into her waking life...in a very exciting way.
So why did I like this? It isn't about a bunch a bodies figuring out how they can all go together at the same time (not that I don't enjoy that), but its based on a feelings. Feelings of coming home, of belonging, of finally having something to call her own, and the ending was breathtaking. As a reward for completing her court, the garden of her dreams opens to her and once again the most delightful surprise has been lying dormant in wait for her to come home (which by the way is my favorite part).
Now let us backtrack to the men and the yummy parts. This is Fae..lol...so there are plenty of hot spots peppered throughout this delightful opening. Even though I enjoyed the naughty men and hot woman in her life, Verity remained my favorite character. The innocence that was so a part of her soul, shined through the entire book with the wonder that was attached to each new sensation that she experienced. It really was a hot magical ride that I hope has at least three more books attached to it. Hats off to a great read ladies. I loved this book and I was so sad for it to be over! I can't wait until the next one!
