Sinful Sunday Review: Rescued by Tordin by Mychal Daniels

Happy Sunday my old stalkers!  I have finally winded down enough to crank up the closeness full time again!!  Aren't you excited?  I know you and few of my favorite old authors are!!  I have a severe soft spot for sy-fy romance.  Probably because it would take an alien to sweep me off my feet...lol... literally!!  Today is all about a new to this site author:  Mychal Daniels.  I had the pleasure of making her acquaintance through Stella Price's AAD pre-parties.  As one of my favorite cons, I tend to immerse myself in it totally, especially now when its almost upon us...SQUEEEE!!  I will be meeting this lovely author face to face and I can't wait!! Book 1(because thank the gods there is mooore) in her Olodian Warrior Series has me HOOOKED!

Curvy, intelligent and focused, Kyra Simmons has her eye on the prize. She’s locked her sights on becoming the top technical engineer for the most prestigious space program back on Earth. That is, until her life and plans are turned upside down in an instant on board a maintenance Space Station.

Stranded on the now failing Space station, Kyra needs a miracle to survive. She has no idea that the ‘foreign’ astronauts who show up to rescue her are out of this world—literally.

Warrior Lord Tordin, Crown Prince of Olodia, knows he’s outside of the Mandates of the Intergalactic Alliance when he intercedes to rescue the survivors of the Earth space station. But there’s something or someone pulling him in.

He’s not prepared for what he finds in the unassuming Earth female. Try as he might to stay away, the pull grows stronger and stronger to be with her. His mission depends on his ability to stay focused and be prepared, but that’s almost impossible with Kyra in his thoughts and dreams.

On the alien mother ship speeding away from Earth forever, Kyra’s biggest problem is not getting back to Earth; it’s how not to fall for this alien Warrior Lord who's the actual man of her dreams.

Can she find a way to realize her dreams of power and recognition now that she’s been rescued by Tordin?

Review:

Being a woman in the business world has taught me many things, the first being you are a woman first and an employee second.  Kyra suffers some of the same problems I do in the essence of the fact she is a curvy woman who has to wear a mandated outfit that was uni-sexed but still primarily is made for a man..lol.  I felt her pain in the workplace and was able to connect with as a character on so many levels.  So the opening chapter reeled me in completely.  The details and excitement of being assigned to a space station are completely fascinating.  You can almost feel her joy at her accomplishments and her loneliness because she is doesn't interact well with others.  She shines in the face of tragedy and is able to help several shuttles escape during the station meltdown and save her best friend.  What she never counted on was her sexy rescuer stealing her heart and soul.

Tordin felt the pull coming from the space station and risked the wraith of the IGA and his father to rescue the survivors from the failing vessel,  Terrians had been forbidden to Olodians due to several misinterpreted visits to their planet from long ago.  Tordin could not ignore the sense that he was being pulled there and thank goodness he trusted his instincts!!  He knew what was on this vessel was important, but he had no inkling that it would turn out to be the biggest treasure he ever discovered.

Mix in a bad guy that helped bring Kyra's space station down, a spoiled prince, and some world jumping and you have an exciting adventure that I could not put down!  Kyra and Tordin had a very rocky start due to her insecurities and his sense of duty.  Their story is beautiful and powerful and will leave you with sense of hope and rightness in the world.  I loved this book so much that after I finished reading, I ran over to Amazon to buy book two.  If you are like me and love a good Sy-Fy romance with a great story, then this is the series for you!  Hats off to Mychal to her fabulous writing and I cannot wait to read more!!
