“What is this place?”


“It’s a hot springs cave.”


“A cave? Isn’t that dangerous?”


“Not when you’re with me, I’ll keep you safe, I promise.” The warmth of his smile melted the last of her cold exterior.


More solar lights illuminated the path to their destination. Although hesitant, she didn’t resist when he led her to the rocky archway. The exquisite aroma of the jasmine flowers clustered along the walls of the entrance lingered about them.


“It’s for the exclusive use of villa guests so….”


“What?”


“Since the reception is still going, I don’t think we’ll be interrupted.”


“Oh,” a shiver of excitement ran through her. Another chance of getting caught.


“There are some wrought iron torches along the stone walls.” Yong patted his pocketless jacket. “No matches.”


“I don’t have anything,” Cindy stopped. She wouldn’t follow even him into the blackness ahead. “I left my bag in my room, we’ll have to go back, we can’t see inside.”


“Hey, it’s no problem, I got it.” Yong stood close to the torch and blew on the wick. The glow emanating from his pursed lips ignited the lamp.


A surge of amazement rushed through her. “Oh, right, the dragon thing. Gwen told me all about it.”


“Hope it doesn’t freak you out.” Yong walked to the next one and repeated his magic.


“Not at all, actually, the first time I saw it was the night Gwen lost it on her ex. Then, I was freaked out, but it was like she was in a trance, and her eyes were….”


“Glowing?”


“Yes!”


“Yeah, that’s when the anger takes over. It’s like your body goes on autopilot. So, you’re okay with this then?” He leaned in to light another one.


“The way tonight is going; it’s just one more amazing thing.”


Yong took her hand and they went deeper into the tunnel.


A surprising sensation filled her palm. “Hey, your skin is getting hot.”

This was my first experience with a Cheryl Yeko book, and I must say it will not be my last.   Angela was a really well written character and in my opinion relatable if you have been in an abusive relationship.  You get spurts of Angela's past throughout the book and she had quite a rocky ride.  It's really sad that that the person that damaged and scarred her, has now marked her a murderer.  There was no escaping her past and even worse is the fact the detective she is attracted to believes she killed her husband.  There really was no breaks for Angela.  Can she ever find happiness?
The book takes you through the process of Angela learning, not only how to live again but how to trust someone.  It really was a thrilling suspense mixed in with some really steamy sex scenes.  Your heart aches for Angela throughout the book, even as you realize Jake has to overcome some issues too.  This truly is a fast-paced hot read.  I really enjoyed every realistic aspect!!

Let me clear a spot so you can have a seat.  Would you like some refreshments before you get started?

Tell us a little bit about your book.

I suck at “pitching” my book so I’ll give you a short version of the blurb.

When Kean wakes up naked, collared and locked in a cell, he knows thinking with his dick has finally gotten him into trouble. To gain his freedom, Kean must provide Araya, a human-Sempire mix, with his semen to save her life and complete her transition to full Sempire. Problem is, she refuses it even though the lust between them is undeniable. Determined to escape and to save Araya's life, Kean ups the stakes and forces Araya into a situation that makes it impossible for her to continue refusing him.

What first sparked the series idea?

I was visiting my mother and the morning I was leaving, the idea of Sempires popped into my mind. Just like that. Bam! On the three hour drive home, I talked, out loud, to myself about it. I couldn’t wait to get to my laptop.

Who is the character that in your opinion everyone is going to fall in love with?

The hero, Kean. He’s yummy. He’s alpha but not the insanely, overly alpha male and he’s part Incubus (sex demon) so he knows what he’s doing with a female’s body.

I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?

I think it depends on my frame of mind when writing. Sometimes sex scenes are easy, sometimes they’re hard. (Ha. I said “hard”.) Sometimes emotional scenes are easy, sometimes they’re hard.

How would you rate the sex scenes throughout the series?

There’s one I’d rate as morally questionable. Ha. The rest I’d rate between sizzling and super sizzling.

Are there any of these in your books?  (Hands one of the toy boxes on the right which is filled with sex toys, whips, body creams, lotions, lubs…and whatever else you can imagine J)

Wow! That’s one helluva toy box! There’s a collar and some silk scarves in my book.

Do you see yourself writing anymore stories in this series or a spin-off?

Yes! I’m working on the second story in the series. It’ll feature Araya’s sister, Valia and a super hunky demon dude. I’m totally excited about it.

Are any of your characters reflective of you?

Yes, like the Sempire characters, I require semen to survive. :-)

The king’s sarcophagus lay on a large carved stone in the center of the torch lit chamber. Seti paced across the compacted dirt, the oily smoke from the flames trailing behind him in a whirlwind of memory. Musky incense swirled over mounds of beaded offerings to the gods. He fell onto his knees, trembling. The lone melody of a cane ney snaked down into the tomb, the musician somewhere outside, with most of the mourners.

I love diving into the past and just the thought that you intertwine your fate with another made for a really good story.  Kat was a workaholic vet with a big heart and an extreme love of cats.   Seti was a soon to be crowned king of Egypt.  Both needed to be loved and were extremely lonely.  Thanks to Madame Eve and Bast..problem solved!!  I truly recommend the 1 Night Stand series.  They have not put out a bad book yet.  I look forward to another read by this author thanks to this yummy little taste!!  Great Read!
