A Vampire's Mail Order Bride by Kristen Painter's Release Day!!

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better. Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. What she doesn't know is her groom to be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. His past means love is no longer an option. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets...

My Review:

Being a big Kristen Painter fan myself let me pre-face by saying this is quite different from her previous works. It just goes to show you what a well-rounded and talented author she is because even though it was different, it was still completely fantastic!! Delaney is such an amazing main character! From her quirky obsessiveness over chocolate, her spot on wit and humor, to her lovable feline companion, she will steal your heart right from the get go. A strong character who has had about as much luck with dating as I have, which is one of the reasons I enjoyed her. Her split-second decision on stealing a folder from a paranormal dating agency changes her life....literally forever..lol.

Hugh is the scientific brother (watch out ladies...there are 3!!!) and tends to spend his days in the lab. He has tried dating a few women, but they all seem fall flat. He has met a lot of what he doesn't want but nothing that can hold his interest for very long....until Delaney. She gives that 400 year old heart a jump start and sends his mind on a long forgotten journey. Let's just hope they both can get over the lies and secrets!!

I enjoyed this book immensely. It was a light hearted romp through paranormal love and left you feeling all warm and fuzzy on the inside. There was an excellent mixture of paranormal creatures to include a gargoyle, which I found utterly fascinating! That's one paranormal you don't hear much from! I can't wait for book two in this series. Kristen has left this town wide open for a 100 possible stories! Get ready to sink your teeth into her newest sensation!!
