Review: My Familiar Stranger By Victoria Danann

A SECRET SOCIETY, HOT HEROES, AND VAMPIRES come together where chance intersects romance for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure proving that true love can find you in the strangest places, even far, far from home.

My Review:

This book was definitely a hook, right off the bat!!  There was no lagging or building, just straight into the story's action and the author ran with it throughout the entire book.  It was imaginative, intense, and delightfully different.

Elora was part of a noble household in a realm parallel  to ours.  Her world was shattered as she watched her family brutally attacked and murdered right before her eyes.  She stood frozen as she watched the scene unfold when Monq grabs her and drags her out of that room.  Monq is not only her friend, but her mentor and teacher as well.  That's why she feels so betrayed when he pushes her through a spinning vortex!

The condition in which she arrives in our world in is unforgettable!!  I don't think I've read a book to date with something like that happening, but it makes sense.  She comes out of the vortex a gooey mess and is immediately saved by Storm.  He awkwardly carries her to the hospital portion of the base where they begin some major reconstruction.

This book follows Elora through her healing process and her new life in this realm.  Victoria put an unique spin on some familiar favorites as she ventures through with Elora on her quest to start over again.   One of the things I was delighted by the most was the scientific explanation behind most of the differences between Elora and us.  It made my inner geek squeal with delight. Not to mention a sexy all alpha male team that hints at more books to come!! It was a quite an intriguing tale and I simply cannot wait to read part two.  Excellent Read!!
