Three years ago, one horrific night changed his life forever. And now the wolf soul that was invoked to save him is taking over his body, day by day.

Can he master his animal instincts in time to discover who is stealing children's souls before the delicate balance we all depend upon is shattered?

Or will he reject the one woman who can help heal his body and his soul?

My Review

Love. Love had led her across the ocean, far away from her family and friends only to be told that he had changed his mind.  This was love? Leigh had pondered this over and over as she had been forced to find employment with a less than reputable woman.  But, she wasn’t starving and she couldn’t ask her mother to send her money that she didn’t have, just so she could crawl up under the covers for a few years and totally disappear.  It was up to Leigh to figure out how to get home, well Leigh and her ghostly guardian Jacob.  Jacob had been a part of her ever since childhood.  He stood between her and the nightmares, which had plagued her ever since before she could remember.  He was her solace and constant companion.  As for love, that could wait.  At least those were her intentions until she stumbled upon Grant.
Grant had carried the weight of the disappearance of his nephew for years.  It had eaten away at his very soul and made any attempt at normalcy impossible.  That and the fact he now shared his body with a wolf, made Grant shy away from everyone.  He had exhausted every conventional and a few unconventional means in order to find out more about Tristan’s disappearance.  When his sister contacted him once again with a potential prospect to find him, Grant was immediately on guard.  He took Leigh for another con-artist with an agenda and was hell bent on exposing her.  That is until he met her face to face.
The sorrow that is embedded in this story does not take away from the fact it is an exceptionally unique and utterly delightful read!  You are engulfed into the story so quickly it’s almost as if you are under a spell with the words “the end” breaking the hold.  It literally grips on to you, restraining your ability to focus on anything else until you know what happens.  It’s every mother’s worst nightmare, to lose a child and not have any sense of closure.  I would never give up until I was absolutely certain there wasn’t any hope.  Like Grant’s sister I would exhaust every possibility numerous times and chase down every lead.  No matter how long it took.  The paranormal aspects in this novel are completely unique and have you second guessing where the story is leading.  Predictability has no place in this book.  The characters are fabulously flawed and completely lovable.  Especially Jacob.  This is the second piece I have read from this author and couldn’t be more pleased to have found that she didn’t disappoint me when she branched off into another series.  This new world she created was, even with its nightmarish horrors, completely fascinating and addicting.  All I have to say to Amber Scott is …More …Please!!!!
