She gave away her heart…
Giving her heart to a mortal wasn't something the First Fate planned. Losing him nearly shattered her soul. Upon his death, Clotho swore never to love—or weave life—again. Hoping she'll change her mind before it's too late, Zeus commands the spinner of life to take a much needed vacation from her immortal responsibilities.
He had to hide his...
Dane is close to cracking the drug ring he's spent the last two years infiltrating, but needs to perform one last heist to meet the head man and prevent an impending war. An undercover agent, he’s now on the run from drug lords, thieves and with the very woman whose tears make him forget his purpose.
Together they’ll find a way back from the dark.
Chloe will have to put her trust in the man she believes may have killed her fiance, or face an eternity on Earth. Without the desire for life, hope could slip through the cracks of time if he doesn’t love away her sorrow.
My Review:
I have to start out this review with some cover love! Rachel has some of the most alluring and original covers!! With that being said I was immediately intrigued by this book because it was based on a Greek entity. The Fates, 3 spinners of Death, the weavers of destiny, along with a multitude of other nicknames that have been far more colorful and explicit. We are all aware of what horrors these three sisters are capable of. But what of their softer side?
Chloe, better known to us Greek nerds as Clotho, is heartbroken. She went on vacation and did the one thing that her father (and ever other immortal) warned her not to do. She fell in love. David was a gentle warrior, so much like herself that she couldn't help herself. But then the unthinkable happened. She was ready to give up Olympus to settle down and live a normal human life with David, when Attie gave her the heads up. If there was one sister you should fear, it was Attie, the summoner of death. So her love dies and her heart shatters. Being the Fate that sparks creation, she refuses to spin. She has lost all faith in humanity, and can't seem to stop crying. Eager for Chloe to return to her normal sweet self, Zeus throws a challenge at her, one that would change her fate.
Dane was all about getting the job done. He had worked hard on this case and had been in deep undercover for two years. He sat down next to Chloe on the bus and couldn't help but be drawn to her. She was the most beautiful and sad thing he had ever laid eyes on. He tried several times to bring make her smile because her tears were effecting him. The bad thing was the thugs were after him were getting ready to take over the bus. He knew that since he had been seen taking to her that she was now in danger. So he does what every hero would do, he grabs her, forces her to jump out of a moving bus, and hike back towards civilization. Yes, Dane was truly her hero!
I enjoyed this read immensely and was so happy to be helping out on the tour!! I loved the spin this trilogy put on the fates and can't wait to read the second and third book. Rachel has pushed aside all of the horrible aspects of Chloe and concentrated on her heart. My favorite part in the book is the first thing she decide to create when she once again picks up her needles. It was a delightful surprise!! Great Read!!
