Giveaway and Interview with Avery Flynn and her newest book Passion Creek

Good Morning and Welcome to another edition of The Rack!  Today in our torture chamber of bliss we have the lovely Avery Flynn.  She wanted to talk about her newest book Passions Creek until...well....you know what happens on the rack :)  This is what she had to say:

Hello and Welcome to CEWTNK!  I’m so happy to have you here visiting in my dungeon and sharing your newest work.  Don’t mind the noise from the prison… err guests, they get noisy during their…treatments..lol.  Let me clear a spot so you can have a seat.  Would you like some refreshments before you get started?

So I have to ask…Why Nebraska?
What, you don’t dream of taking an exotic vacation in Nebraska? :) I grew up in Nebraska and I love midwesterners, they’re a fun, blunt bunch of people who are always there for you in a pinch. Who wouldn’t want to write about them?

Tell us a little bit about the series as a whole….How are they connected?
Temptation Creek, Seduction Creek and Passion Creek all involve different siblings from the Layton family. With Temptation Creek, hot-tempered Claire Layton found a dead body and love - not with the dead body, but you know what I mean. In Seduction Creek, county sheriff Hank Layton is hell-bent on saving his little sister’s best friend and ends up falling in the process. In Passion Creek, it’s the uptight brother’s turn. Sam Layton is a history professor with abs of steel and a magnetic attraction to his polar opposite - the brash and free-spirited Josie Winarsky.

What first sparked the series idea?
I didn’t mean for it to be a series, but I just fell in love with Claire’s brothers when writing Temptation Creek and knew they all needed their stories told. There’s one more brother to go, Chris, before the series will be complete.

What is the key element in your character creation?
I have to hear their voice in my head and understand why they’re the hero of their own story. Even the villains think they’re doing the best thing.

Who is the character that in your opinion everyone is going to fall in love with?
Out of all the Layton’s? Man that is tough. I’m going to take the chicken’s way out and say the family matriarch, Glenda. That woman is stubborn, wily and more than a little willing to push and prod her children into matrimony.

I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?
The last scene. It kills me every time because I hate saying goodbye.

How would you rate the sex scenes throughout the series?
Ohhhh, great question! The sex is different in each book because the characters are different. In Temptation Creek the sex is a long, hot build up. In Seduction Creek the sex is teasing and hot. In Passion Creek, Sam and Josie have some blow the doors off the barn type of sex.

Are there any of these in your books?  (Hands  one of the toy boxes on the right overflowing with sex toys)

*Eyes light up with glee.* Damn, not yet but I think there sure might be in Chris’ story.

Do you see yourself writing anymore stories in this series or a spin-off?
Chris will definitely get his day. I just need to find him the right girl.

Are any of your characters reflective of you?
All of them to a point. I’m probably as stubborn as Claire, tease as much as Hank does and love to lose myself in a book like Sam.

Tell us about some up and coming books.
Well, I have something completely different for me involving zombies that will be coming out from Lyrical Press next year. I twisted the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk, added in a healthy dose of hot romance and topped it off with zombies. It was so much fun to write, I can’t wait for everyone to get to read it.

Also, I’m working on the first book in my Killer Style series of steamy romantic suspense books that lets me indulge in my love of fashion.

Will any of your characters from this series cameo in other future books?
Oh you’ll see the Laytons again, no doublt about it.

Where can we find you for future updates?

Any future touring in the works?
Just a little bit here or there, but I love talking books - mine or any one else’s - so I’m always open to stopping in for a blog chat.

I’m so happy you have made this a stop.  Would you like a tour of the..err…chambers ?   I can introduce you to the “guests”, if you just hand me that box back.  But first we need to suit you up!!!

Wine, mixed drink, or straight up?
Like Josie, I’m a vodka gimlet girl.

Leather straps or chains?
If I had to pick, I’d go with red leather straps.

Cat-o-nine, braided leather, or chain length whip?
Braided leather for the win.

Collar and Leash or Ordornment?
Collar please.

Leather studded bodysuit or corset top?
I love a corset. Love.

Fishnets or garterbelt?
There’s just something about fishnets that fascinates me.

Leather pants, mini, or a long skirt slitted up both sides?
Mini all the way.

Lace up boots or high heels?
Can I have high heel lace up boots? I want both!

Ball gag, manacles, or blindfold?
OK, I cannot read/see ball gag without thinking of Pulp Fiction so I’m going with blindfold here.

The rack or the whipping post?
I’m a wimp. I’m going with neither.

Candle wax or clamps?
Candle wax please.

Blonde, red-head, or Brunette?  He is my personal favorite.  I have a thing for dark haired tattooed guys.  And the nipple piercings just add that little bit of kink 
Love a dude with tats. Love. Also, a brooding, dark haired guy is perfect for me.

So we are leaving you with this great giveaway and after we have sampled some treats from the dungeon’s chambers, We will be back!!  Let's take a look at the book details:

.(

Uptight history professor Sam Layton may have the abs of a movie action hero, but he stopped believing in the joy of adventure a long time ago. However, when a one-night stand with a tattooed bombshell leads to a treasure map for the long-buried Rebecca’s Bounty, the call to action is too strong to ignore.

All Las Vegas cocktail waitress Josie Winarsky wants to do is paint. But when she lands smack dab in the middle in a mob plot, she has to push aside her dreams to find a treasure in Dry Creek, Nebraska and save her family from harm. With Sam at her side and a Vegas loan shark on her tail, the treasure she finds turn out to be much more valuable than emeralds and rubies.

Sound Yummy?  Well Avery is going to giveaway a copy of the book!!  Just fill out the rafflecopter!  Good luck!!

I am sorry to say that I have never gotten naughty in water!! I have tried but drowning is just not sexy or fun! Bathtub sounded like a good idea at the time but I guess we had too much water because I went under multiple times and said "no more water adventures"!!

Shower! Lol

I guess I would have to say the shower because that's the only place unless I count the pool. Now that was fun.

I've never gotten naughty in the water. If I had to choose a place That I would, it would have to be a lake or shower, or even a hot tub, but no beach. Imaging getting sand in all those places. No thanks.

I love the stories I've read about the secluded tropical waterfall--that sounds like an ideal setting, provided the mosquitoes stay away ;)

On a tropical island under a waterfall sound pretty romantic to me.

From my own experiences it would be a shower but a fantasy would be a clear blue ocean :)
Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
