Giveaway and Interview with Susan Griscom(writing as Regan Walsh) and her newest book Reflections

Hello and Welcome to this stop on the Reflections Book Tour!  I have had the privilege of reading both books in the series and interviewing the lovely Susan Griscom. You know all my newbies must face THE RACK....let's see how she fared....muahahahahaahahahahaahahhahaahahhahahahhaahahah!
 

Hello and Welcome to THE RACK!  I’m so happy to have you here visiting and sharing your newest work.  Don’t mind the noise from the prison… err guests, they get noisy during their…treatments..lol.  Let me clear a spot so you can have a seat.  Would you like some refreshments before you get started?

 

Hello Nikki, and thank you so much for inviting me to your dungeon. I’d love an adult beverage if you have one. Oh, and nothing laced with anything unusual, please. Heehee After all, I have writing to do.

 

So I have to ask…Why paranormal romance?

 

It’s an escape! Paranormal takes me into a world of the unknown, where anything is possible. I find that very refreshing and exciting, a nice release from my own hum-drum life. LOL 

 

Tell us a little bit about your book.

 

REFLECTIONS is the second book in the Whisper Cape series. It is Gerry’s and Maia’s story and a few unusual challenges that they face as they try to sort out their feelings and commitments for each other. We learn a bit more of Gerry’s past, his childhood as well as his past love life, one in particular he’d just as well forget, but when it walks back into his life, she caused a few problems for both Gerry and Maia. Of course, Cael and Addison are there to add a little distraction of their own.

 

What first sparked the series idea?

 

Right after I finished writing the first book, I wrote the first three chapters of Reflections. I stopped writing it to focus on perfecting Whisper Cape, (which I don’t think ever really happens in any author’s mind about their own work). After WC was released, people started asking when the next book in the series was coming. I didn’t want to disappoint anybody, so now we have Reflections and more to come. It is a bit scary putting a second book out there to follow one that was well received. I can only hope that Reflections is liked as much as the first book.

 

What is the key element in your character creation?

 

Relatability and Likability, I think. Even villains. I love to hate the villain. J

 

Who is the character that in your opinion everyone is going to fall in love with?

 

I was surprised, but everyone fell in love with Breena and she is only a child. Of course, Cael is a hot gorgeous guy and I think most women enjoy reading about him. Some want to hide him in their closet. I don’t think I’d mind having him tied up for a while. I love writing him.

 

I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?

 

Sex scenes. I love to write sex scenes but they are hard. It’s not the sex part that’s really hard, it’s getting the emotions across the way I want. I have to show emotion and sensuality in my sex scenes. I want the reader to actually feel as if it is them being kissed, touched, or even brought to climax. I don’t know if I’ve been able to do that or not, but I know when I read some of my sex scenes now, some I’ve written a while ago, they do have a tendency to get me hot. LOL. It takes me a couple of days to write a sex scene. I’ll write it, but then the next day, add and delete stuff. Then again add and change it around in the next edit. Like I said, I’m never fully satisfied and strive for perfection.  

 

How would you rate the sex scenes throughout the series?

 

Hmmm… let’s see. Some are more intense than others. They definitely are not erotic but I would have to say they are steamy, IMHO. I guess steamily romantic and sensual. LOL If I were giving a number of 1 to 5 for heat level, I would have to say the more intense senses would be 3 and a half but rounded up to 4.

 

Are there any of these in your books?  (Hands one of the toy boxes on the right which is filled with sex toys, whips, body creams, lotions, lubs…and whatever else you can imagine J)

 

Does bubble bath count? How about a little magic? I mean these guys have super abilities, so I’m positive they do not need to use any artificial stimulation on their women. But then, I suppose a blindfold and a little bondage once in a while might be nice. I’ll work on that.  J

 

Do you see yourself writing anymore stories in this series or a spin-off?

 

Yes. The third book has already been started and maybe I’ll add in a little bondage for fun. I think the title will be A Secret Fate. I do have something brewing in the back of my mind for a spin off with Breena. But we have to wait for her to grow up a bit, about eleven years would be good.

Are any of your characters reflective of you?  Reflective? Reflections, hmmm… what a coinkidinky. LOL. Yes. All the females possess a bit of me. Even the naughty ones. *blushes*

 

Tell us about some up and coming books.

 

Aside from A Secret Fate, I have a young adult book coming out soon called Allusive Aftershock. A love story centered around a mega-thrust earthquake and how they cope with loss and love with a little weirdness thrown into the mix.

 

 

Will any of your characters from this series cameo in other future books?

 

Probably, if I do a spin-off with Breena the whole gang might show up periodically. But they would need to be older by then, at least eleven years. Breena is barely ten in Reflections and I would want to continue the series as an adult book. But then, I could be persuaded to write it as young adult. Something I might need to do a poll on.

Any future touring in the works?

 

Absolutely. I just don’t know if it will be to do another promo for the Whisper Cape series or Allusive Aftershock. At this time though, I think it will be a release tour for Allusive Aftershock because that is coming up soon. I’m excited about that book. I am really enjoying writing it. Actually, editing it now.

Wine, mixed drink, or straight up? Wine or vodka anything.

 

Leather straps or chains? If those are my only two choices, I’ll go with leather straps, though I prefer silk ties.

 

Cat-o-nine, braided leather, or chain length whip? Braided leather, of course.

 

Collar and Leash or Adornment? I like embellishments so, adornments it is.

 

Leather studded bodysuit or corset top? Corset top. A pretty one.

 

Fishnets or garter-belt? A lacy garter-belt

 

Leather pants, mini, or a long skirt slitted up both sides? Ten years ago, I loved to wear leather pants. LOL Today, I’d have to go with the long slitted skirt.

 

Lace up boots or high heels? High heels.

 

Ball gag, manacles, or blindfold? Bindfold.

 

The rack or the whipping post? The rack? Yikes. Hey, will it make me taller?

 

Candle wax or clamps? Candle wax.

 

Blonde, red-head, or Brunette? Brunette

 

He is my personal favorite, but I have a thing for dark haired tattooed demonsJ.  And the nipple piercings just add that little bit of kink.  The humans are kept on the upper levels even though I’m slowly weeding them out.  They just can’t seem to handle our….services.  And of course, the further down you go the more of the paranormal comes to light.  So …what’s your poison? We also have a new level of shapeshifters that can take on ANY form you want……it’s actually quite amusing if you want to switch during….you get the picture!!!

 

Oooh. How exciting. Let me just go back and get that box…
