Hello and Welcome to The Dungeon!  I’m so happy to have you here visiting and sharing your newest work.  Don’t mind the noise from the prison… err guests, they get noisy during their…treatments..lol. Let me clear a spot so you can have a seat.  Would you like some refreshments before you get started?
Thanks so much for having me today! Hmm…what should I have to drink? Do any of these hot paranormal bartenders come with the drinks, LOL?

lol...why yes they do...be careful of Delvin's though.....Tell us a little bit about your new work.
My latest story,His Kind of Woman, was released in June. It’s a romance featuring a transgender heroine.

What first sparked the story idea?
Venetia first appeared as a supporting character in my BDSM romance, Uncollared. She was working as a bartender in a BDSM club to earn extra money for her gender reassignment surgery. I liked her right away and knew that I wanted to write her story as soon as the right hero appeared.

Who is the character that in your opinion everyone is going to fall in love with?
I think everyone will love Venetia—she’s a brave, smart, funny woman who’s faced adversity and determined to go ahead with her gender reassignment in spite of losing friends and loved ones.  But I also think people will love Roy, the story’s hero. He and Venetia are a bit of an odd couple—he’s a truck driver and a former bully. But he’s also a man who’s changed over time and is much more aware than others might give him credit for. As open minded as he’s become, he’s still taken aback to realize he’s fallen for a trans woman.

I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?
Strangely enough for an erotic romance writer, sex scenes are tough for me. I want to make them hot, but also sweet enough to be romantic. And I never want to seem to repeat myself.

How would you rate the sex scenes throughout the series?
I hope readers will find them hot and sexy, but also be touched by the love between the main characters. It’s strictly m/f in this story, no menage or kink. (Sorry, fans of the kinkier stuff.J)

Are there any of these in your books?  (Hands one of the toy boxes on the right which is filled with sex toys, whips, body creams, lotions, lubs…and whatever else you can imagine J)
LOL, sex toys are involved in Uncollared and also make an appearance in my FFM menage romance His and Hers and Hers. Say, some of these look very interesting. Any chance I can take a few home and try them out?

We might just be able to work something out...lol   How many books do you see in this series?
At the moment, I don’t have any definite plans, but I would like to write a few more stories featuring trans heroes/heroines. Maybe some of Venetia’s friends from her support group will have their own stories.

Are any of your characters reflective of you?
I guess I’ll give the stock answer and say that there’s an element of me in most of my characters, although they’re smarter, wealthier and better looking than I am, LOL!

Tell us about some of your other works.
I mentioned Uncollared earlier. That’s a BDSM themed m/f romance. Another story with that same publisher, Loose Id, is an f/f/m menage romance, His and Hers and Hers. I have three novels in The Man series published with The Wild Rose Press: One Good Man, Take This Man, and Her Perfect Man. These are all m/f erotic romances. A short story, Irresistible Impulse, features a lesbian couple who appear as secondary characters in the series.

Where can we find you for future updates?

I’m so happy you have made this a stop.  Would you like a tour of the…err…levels?  J I can introduce you to the “guests”, if you just hand me that box back.
Aww, do I have to give it back? LOL

Lol..just for a bit...Let’s get you suited up:
Wine, mixed drink, or straight up?
Love my vino, but I’ll never say no to a Lemon Drop Martini, either.

Leather straps or chains?
Chains, please. Gold ones, of course. ;-)

Cat-o-nine, braided leather, or chain length whip? Collar and Leash or Adornment?
Adornment, dahling, always.

Leather studded bodysuit or corset top?
Definitely corset. At my age I need help getting everything squeezed in and pushed up.

Fishnets or garter-belt?
Garter belt is more demure, don’t you think?

Leather pants, mini, or a long skirt slitted up both sides?
Long skirt with a slit will give everyone a chance to peek at the garter belt.

Sexy...Lace up boots (with or without heels) or come F*** me high heels?
Ball gag, manacles, or blindfold?
Better go with the boots—I might break my neck in the high heels. And are the manacles jewel encrusted?

I do believe I have a pair of those!!  The rack or the whipping post?
Which one will show me to the best advantage, LOL?

I'd go with the rack..lol..Candle wax or clamps
Ouchy, ouchy. Candle wax, I guess.

Blonde, red-head, Brunette, or Supernatural J?
One of each, please!

My kind of girl!!  While I take Nona on a trial run through my goods...I mean tour of my dungeon, lets take a look at her book:

Blurb:
When Roy Girard went looking for Victor Varrano, he never expected a woman to answer the door. He soon discovers that Victor is now Venetia. Roy's startled, but even more surprised by his attraction to her. As they spend time together, he doesn't want to let her go. But she's sure to dump him when she learns his secret.
Venetia's falling hard and fast for Roy. But when she learns that his brother was the bully who tormented her in high school, she's shattered. She can't wrap her head around the fact that the man who made such amazing love to her could so completely betray her trust.

Excerpt:
He was just being polite, making sure she made it safely to her door, checking to see she wouldn’t dissolve into a puddle of goo after the scene in the cafĂ©. But she had other ideas.
At her door, she took the initiative and kissed him, crushing her breasts to him and practically grinding her lips against his. When she pulled back, she was gasping. “Do you want me?”
He licked his lips, and his eyes narrowed as he peered at her. She read his expression—Where is this coming from?—and knew he wanted to be a gentleman. He didn’t want to take advantage of her in a vulnerable state. The hell with that.
“Do you want me, Roy? Tell me the truth. Because I want you. Right now.” He didn’t need to answer because she felt his hard-on prod her pelvis. She kissed him again and holding on to his belt, pulled him inside her apartment.
After tossing her sweater and purse on the sofa, she turned toward Roy. He was as still and substantial as a mountain, as real, as dependable. She needed his sturdiness now, needed his strength. “You do want me, don’t you? But you’ve been afraid.”
He flushed like a boy being caught with his father’s Playboy.
“It’s all right,” she told him as she began to unbutton her blouse. “I understand. You’re worried.” She slowly undid the rest of the buttons until the front of the blouse fell open. “I say I’m a woman, but I used to have a man’s body. And you wonder—am I really truly who I say I am?” She slipped off the blouse and stood before him in her pale blue bra.
The heat of his gaze seared her as he stared at her breasts. Her nipples prickled. She unsnapped the front closure of her bra and let the straps slide down her arms. Her dark brown nipples jutted straight out at him, needing him to touch them, kiss them. Roy’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and Venetia could swear she heard him swallow hard.
She stood proudly for a moment to let him look at her. She had suffered for this body, not just physically, but emotionally, financially, in every way imaginable. Let her enjoy it now; let him enjoy it too. She basked in his admiration, but as the heat and urgency grew between her legs, Venetia knew it would not be enough.
She kicked off her pumps and shimmied out of her jeans. Now she wore only her lacy blue panties. She loved these panties, loved how sexy and feminine they made her feel, and now she saw how Roy loved them too.
The enormity of the step she was about to take suddenly hit her. Though she tried to steady it, her voice vibrated with fear as she spoke again. No backing down now, no running away. She slipped her thumb into the waistband of her panties. “There won’t be any surprises when I take these off,” she assured him. “My outside matches my inside now. I’m completely a woman in every way.”
As she began to pull the panties down, he stopped her. “Wait.”
She froze and her chest squeezed in disappointment. He didn’t want her?
He approached her, indicating the panties. “I want to do that.”

Review: The Kalaydan Chronicles Book 1: The Moon-Kissed Chi by Grinelda Markowitz

            Title: The Moon Kissed Chi
            Author: Grinelda Markowitz
            Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
            Length: 120 pages
            Sub-Genres: Erotica

Blurb:

From the quirkiness of her daughter to the           equine escapades of Bezhyanya (her sworn bedmate) and Grayt (her serving woman), Arrinay, ruler of Kalaydan, is faced with many concerns throughout her day which she handles with grace, poise and dignity.  Will she be able to meet the challenges to come?
In the City of Kalaydan, Arrinay and Bezhyanya, the senior members of the ruling family, are faced with the early maturation of their daughter, Gayadnae.  She must start the training.  It’s Kalaydan law.  Their daughter has other ideas.  After concocting a plan to avoid responsibility and almost succeeding in carrying it out, Gayadnae’s life takes an unexpected turn.  Grayt, the ever-present serving woman to Arrinay, fills many roles and has her fingers in a number of pies.  There’s definitely more to her than is apparent on the surface. Along with coordinating activities in the Main House, keeping the young mistress in line, and talking to horses, Grayt has a more secret agenda with a graver responsibilities.
A hint of trouble on the horizon and other darker activities weave their way through the backdrop of this delightful tale which takes place in the city of Kalaydan.

Excerpt:

Grayt dashed up the stairs lightly.  Running quietly down the dark corridor, she came to the entrance of the receiving room of Arrinay and her family and entered the spacious chamber.  The sound of amorous activity issued from the curtained room ahead.  She walked instead into the room on the right.  The curtains billowed violently, though without sound, into the room in which she stood.  An intense, blue glow radiated from beyond the curtain.
It’s happening again.  I don’t know how much more she can take.
Grayt stepped behind the curtain into the violence of the churning Gaichi energies and was nearly pulled from her feet.  Moving further into the room, she tripped on a couple of clothing items littering the floor and nearly fell.  The young woman on the bed writhed and contorted in her sleep as the powerful energies circulated through her and around her.  The room stank of perspiration and clothing in need of laundering.  Grayt gripped the crystal which hung about her neck and closed her eyes.  Soon an angry, fire-red energy flared from between her tightly closed fingers.  The light continued to intensify, swirling within the blue energies, only to disappear.  She stretched her arms out to either side and began to turn widdershins.  Her turning quickened and soon became spinning.  She blurred like the turning of a child’s spindle.  The Gaichi followed her into the maelstrom she had created and engulfed her.  Seeming at first to consume the small woman, they were soon absorbed by the red force which had seeped out and wrapped around  both her and the Gaichi.  She was embraced by her own fire-red energy.  As the red force wrapped more tightly around her, Grayt absorbed the Gaichi energies and her crystal reabsorbed her own fire-red energy.  The room became dark as pitch.

I really enjoy Sci-fi fantasy reads, and this one had an amazing story-line. I really must confess, I have never read anything quite like this.  This world was quite intriguing and the characters were complex and interesting...especially Gayadnae.  She is determined to escape her fate.  This little short had an interesting mix of humor entangled throughout, as well as some smoking sex scenes.  I believe this author has a bright future ahead of her and will be looking into her again!!

Giveaway and Review of Knight Blindness by Chris Karlson

BLURB:
BACK COVER BLURB FOR KNIGHT BLINDNESS
Ready for battle, Medieval English knight, Stephen Palmer, charges into the French enemy’s cavalry line. Heeding a warning given months before, he hesitates as he comes face-to-face with the knight in the warning. Struck down in the year 1356, he finds himself landing in the year 2013. Grievously wounded, he’s taken to a nearby hospital. Confused by the new world surrounding him, he attempts to convince the staff he’s from another time, only to find they think him mad.
Rescued by friends, who, to his surprise, have also come through time, he must find a way to function in this odd modern England. He is quickly enchanted by the kind Esme Crippen, the young woman hired to tutor him. She too is enchanted by him. Tempted to deepen the relationship, she hesitates thinking him adorable, but mad. He must discover the means for getting her to believe the truth, all the while, unknown to him, he didn’t come forward in time alone. The enemy knight has also traveled to 2013.
French noble, Roger Marchand, doesn’t question why the English knight who charged him hesitated. That fraction of a pause gave him the advantage needed and he brought his sword down upon the Englishman’s helmet hard, unhorsing the knight. He moved to finish the Englishman off when the world changed in a rush of sensations as he is ripped through time.
Seeking a reason for the terrible event, he enters a nearby chapel. There, thinking God has chosen him for a quest to turn French defeat that day in 1356 to victory, he sets out to find the English knight. The man he is convinced holds the key to time. If he returns to the day of the battle, he can warn his king of mistakes that snatched victory from them.

I was born and raised in Chicago. My father was a history professor and my mother was, and is, a voracious reader. I grew up with a love of history and books.
My parents also love traveling, a passion they passed onto me. I wanted to see the places I read about, see the land and monuments from the time periods that fascinated me. I’ve had the good fortune to travel extensively throughout Europe, the Near East, and North Africa.
I am a retired police detective. I spent twenty-five years in law enforcement with two different agencies. My desire to write came in my early teens. After I retired, I decided to pursue that dream. I write two different series. My paranormal romance series is called, Knights in Time. My romantic thriller series is, Dangerous Waters.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest with my husband, four rescue dogs and a rescue horse.

Excerpt:

Stephen woke from the dreamless sleep groggy. Since the Frenchmen took him from the field, he’d lost all sense of time.  Bits and pieces of events faded in and out of memory. He recalled at one point he’d tried to fight and they’d stuck him with a small spiked weapon. It hadn’t hurt, no more than a prick from a lady’s sewing needle. Then, he was floating and had the sense of angels lifting him.
Not angels but his captors.
The delicious scent brought him awake. He might’ve slept hours or days, he didn’t know. All he knew was the food smelled like fine fare and his stomach felt stuck to his backbone, he was so hungry. Those last weeks before the battle the army had run short of provisions. The knights had foraged for food along with their horses. The night before the battle he’d dined on overripe berries and dandelion soup. Soup indeed. Nothing but a handful of dandelion greens thrown into a kettle of boiling water.
“Is the food for me?” he’d asked, stomach rumbling.
A new man, one whose voice he’d never heard answered, “Yes.”
He attempted to rise but tethers kept him prone. His wrists and ankles were tied to the bed with padded cuffs instead of chains. A small but curious kindness.
“How am I to eat it tethered as I am? Smell alone will not get it to my stomach.”
“I’ll release you, but first you must promise not to fight or to touch your eye wrap.”
“Yes, yes, I promise.” He’d agree to most anything for a full belly.
Stephen sat up as soon as he was free.
The man put the tray of food on his lap and set cloth wrapped utensils into his palm.
“What is this?” Stephen poked the tined edge of a four-pronged eating tool to his fingertip.
“What is it? It’s a fork. You know—for sticking your food with and bringing pieces to your mouth.”
Seems silly. Why bother with cutting then sticking your food with the fork before bringing it to your mouth, an eating dagger is faster, more sensible? Stab and eat.
The aroma of meat and bread filled his nose and he put the fork aside. His head low to the tray, he shoveled the vegetables into his mouth with the spoon. A juicy, plump chicken breast nestled next to the vegetables. He tore the meat from the bone with his fingers, licking the buttery drippings from the tips as he devoured it. He last ate chicken in July and then it wasn’t a fat hen but a wiry, tough rooster. When the spoon no longer scooped vegetables, he used his bread to wipe up any remaining morsels on the plate. The captors brought two more plates and he finished those before he was finally full.
Stephen sensed someone enter the room as the man left with the last tray.
“Who is there?”
“I’m here to give you a sponge bath, if you like,” a female, young by the sound of her said.
“You wish to bathe me?”
The pass of his hand over his hair told him somebody had washed it. No dried blood was caked anywhere. He sniffed his forearms. They smelled of soap and had also been cleaned. He had no need of a bath. The woman offered something other than a wash.
He smiled with knowledge. It had been a long time since he’d enjoyed the services of a bawd. Tempting as the harlot’s offer was, he suspected enemy devilry and declined.
“Would you like to listen to music?” she asked.
The bawd traveled with minstrels. He wasn’t in the mood for her other services, but he’d welcome a cheerful tune. “I would.”
“What station do you wish,” she asked.
“I don’t understand.”
“I’ll turn it to a classical one.”
A tune different from any he ever heard came from across the room. “I’ll come back tomorrow,” the bawd said. Her light footfalls told him she left.
Classical station? Lovelier than any minstrel’s music, he dozed off still baffled by weird words and goings on of his captors. They’d woken him an unknown amount of time later and said it was the day and hour for his eye surgery. A man told him to make a fist. He said perfect when he found a vein and then stuck a needle into the crook of Stephen’s elbow. That was the last he remembered.
“Monsieur, monsieur,” a female voice said, patting his hand. “Wake up.”
Stephen yawned and propped himself up on an elbow. “Ugh.” His mouth tasted like sour milk and his tongue felt like it was wrapped in a mitten. “I’d like some water.”
“Here.” The woman slid a flexible spout between his lips. “Suck.”
He didn’t know what the spout was made of, nor did he care. The water tasted sweet to his parched mouth and he sucked the cup dry. “More.” When he’d sucked another cup dry, he asked. “What day is this?”
“September 22,” the woman said, taking the empty cup.
Three days had passed since the battle. Why had they let him live? There could be no good reason for it.
“This is Dr. Berger. Do you remember me speaking to you two days ago about your eye surgery?”
“Yes.”
“Dr. Monette is here too. We want to talk to you about the day they found you. The more we know about you, the more we can help.”
“Who is the woman?” She didn’t sound like the first woman, the one who smelled like a garden. This one carried no scent of any flower. Nor did she sound young as the bawd. What was this one’s purpose? The first, he suspected, had created the potion that put him to sleep. He knew a bawd’s.
“She is Nurse Cloutier.”
Probably Witch Cloutier. “Ask what you will.”
“What is your name?”
“Stephen Palmer.”
“What’s the last thing you remember before receiving your injury?”
“I am a knight in service to the Baron Guiscard. He rode to the aid of his friend. I saw your men surround the baron. They were trying to pull him from his mount. I was about to ride to his aid when one of your knights, his heraldic symbol was of a panther on a field of orange, challenged me.” Stephen thought again how Guy’s warning had made him falter. “I...I hesitated and your man struck with his sword.”
“Monsieur Palmer, your eye injury is serious. If this answer is an attempt at humor, then it is a poor time to engage in such a jest.”
“You asked what I remembered. I told you. I’m not in the habit of making jests with my enemies.”
“Monsieur Palmer, we are not your enemy. We are not at war.” A long moment passed and then Berger asked, “What year do you believe it to be?”
“The year of our Lord, 1356.”
“Mon Dieu,” Cloutier said in the background.
“From what the paramedics told us you said when they arrived, and your answer today, I am convinced that you do believe this is 1356. Monsieur Palmer,” Berger covered Stephen’s hand with his own. “The year is 2013.”

This is book 3 in the series, and this is my first look at this book.  I really feel like I was missing a little bit, but still was able to follow along and enjoy the story.  What happens when 2 hunky knights are dropped into our time?  lol....Chaos and wonder!!   The author did a wonderful job portraying first time visitors into our time.   I laughed out loud a few times because of the descriptions.  The vividness of the writing was very real!!

Was it believable?  Could I get into it?  Absolutely!!  You feel like your journeying right along with the characters!!  The romance between Stephen and Esme is a delicious mixture of sweet and spicy.

I would definitely recommend to all my time-traveler and Knight lovers.  You won't be disappointed!!

When Ryon locates Daria in the Shoshone National Park, it is almost too late, but nursing her back to health at the Alpha Pack compound brings a new complication—Daria is his destined mate, and Ryon is afraid of what will happen when she discovers what he is, and what he had to do to save her life. But the biggest threat of all is still loose in the forest, leaving a merciless trail of death behind it. The Alpha Pack goes on the hunt for the mysterious white wolf, determined to stop the murderous rogue… only to find that the most lethal creature of all is the one they can’t see coming…

COLE'S REDEMPTION
Alpha Pack, #5

Coming:  March 4, 2014

Once, they were Navy SEALS. Now they are the Alpha Pack: a top secret team of wolf shifters with Psy powers who take on the darkest dangers on Earth. But sometimes the greatest danger lies within their own hearts....

Healer and black wolf shifter Zander Cole has survived horrors that would have broken a weaker man. But when a battle leaves him deaf and his powers dimmed, Zan is devastated. Believing himself to be a burden to his team, he sees only one option: leave the Pack forever.

White wolf shifter Selene Westfall knows pain—she is certain her father was responsible for her mother’s death. And she lives to exact revenge. So when she is challenged by a savage black wolf, she puts up a vicious fight—only to become the black wolf’s Bondmate as a result of his bite.

Two damaged souls—one filled with hatred and one who’s lost his reason for living—are forced together as they come to terms with their unlikely, turbulent bond. A love neither expected may be all that stands between them and a killer trying desperately to keep the past dead and buried....

J.D. Tyler Bio

J.D. Tyler is an award-winning, multi-published author who writes for New American Library under three pseudonyms. Whether this is due to an overdose of ambition or a multiple personality affliction, she’ll never tell.

J.D. writes dark, sexy paranormal romance and has a huge thing for shifters, vampires, the Fae, and just about everything else that goes bump and grind in the night. She can’t get enough of those dangerous supernatural heroes, and the fun of creating her own was just too much temptation to resist… so she didn’t. J.D. doesn’t do self-denial.

When she isn’t writing, J.D.’s idea of a good time certainly isn’t cleaning house (sniff), bungee jumping (not in this lifetime, or the next), or camping (her idea of “roughing it” is a slow bellboy). She enjoys reading, being pampered like the diva she is, and spending time with her awesome family. She lives in Texas with her two teenagers.
