Welcome to my stop on Amanda Greene's tour!! Today you are going to get to read my opinion of the book and get a chance to grab a copy of your own!! Let's take a look at the book details:
Kerstyn Ingmar’s life was normal and straight up boring until the night she is rescued by the dangerously sexy, powerfully mesmerizing, Dimitri. Unable to resist his diamond blue eyes and intense kisses, she is drawn into his world of darkness and closer to her impending doom.
While their desire consumes them, Dimitri is haunted by images of a bloody and deadly future. As his enemies draw near, he must find a way to save his mate from her destiny before fate destroys them both.
My Review:
This is book 2 in the series and I had absolutely no idea that this book wasn't a stand alone until after I finished it. This book was chalked full of the mythology behind the creation of the this particular world of vampires, so I was in raptures all the way through. This was a completely enchanting read! I must say this pumped the life back into the vampire world!!
Dimitri is the last pure-blood vampire of the entire race as well as the oldest and most powerful. Which of course makes him uber tall, muscled, and extremely sexy. He is also cursed/blessed with the gift of foresight, a common bond he shares with one sect of witches. Yes, there are witches and soon to be shape-shifters in this series as well. Dimitri is one of the few blessed vampires because he has seen that his mate is well within reach. The only problem is how to tell her the truth about what an who he is and still keep her.
Kerstyn was having the worst week of her life. She gets fired from her job, comes home to her roommate that promptly kicks her out because of her boyfriend, and her car has just breathed its last breath. Her luck abruptly does a turn around after she meets a friend for lunch. She tells Kerstyn of a man who is renting some rooms and agrees to take her to meet him. Kerstyn is immediately blow-away by the absolutely gorgeous tall man that answers the door to greet her. O yeah, her luck just flipped around!!
Dimitri knows this is his mate and is stunned by the response of his body. It had been so long since he had sex just simply because his body no longer responded to it. But boy was it making up for all that lost time now! Dimitri and Kerstyn are thrown together and try to fan the flames of this red-hot instant attraction. But Dimitri's re-birth into society is a well constructive play to draw out an old enemy. But will this cost him his life? Or the life of his mate? This was a yummy and delightful spin on the vampire creation. Hats off to Amanda for her creativity!!
Sneak Peek
She needed to think of anything other than her
dream. As she sat on her bed, she formed a mental list of questions and those
questions demanded answers. But she was not about to go hunt Dimitri down
before getting her lust under control. Throwing herself at him and tackling him
to the ground would not help her confusion though it would quell her newfound
desire.
She had ditched her dress earlier and had slept in
her bra and panties. Now, Kerstyn rummaged through the clothes still scattered
on the floor where she had dropped them deciding that tomorrow she would put
everything in its proper place. Finding a pair of flannel pajama pants and a
tank top with a built-in bra, she slipped into her loungewear, found her pink,
fuzzy slippers, and went in search of Dimitri.
Kerstyn recited her question list again in her head
as she crossed the living room, passed through the kitchen, went down the hall,
and stopped in front of Dimitri’s room. She raised her hand, preparing to knock
when the delicately carved double doors were thrown open. Kerstyn jumped, her
breath lodged in her throat.
Dimitri’s frame filled the doorway. Her eyes met his
bare chest. Thin rivers of water dripped from his damp hair and rolled down his
shoulders to his abdomen. He wore nothing but white workout shorts and a pair
of super-sized, white running shoes.
She swallowed and forced her gaze to leave his
pectorals and travel up his thick neck to his face.
“Can’t sleep either?” she squeaked.
He shrugged. The beast within him was restless,
craving action. The swim had been no help, not with Kerstyn sitting on her
balcony with the scent of her arousal floating on the breeze. Her hot gaze had
been a caress firing his blood, triggering his need despite the cool water. He
had hoped in vain a cold shower would help. Now, he prayed that a death-defying
workout would do what the swim and shower could not—calm the beast.
“I was just heading to the gym.”
“Twenty-Four Hour Fitness?” she asked. She had no
idea what time it was, but it was late…or was it early now? “You know, not all
Twenty-Four Hour Fitness centers are open twenty-four hours.”
“I have a gym set up in the basement.”
She dropped her eyes to the floor and stepped back,
giving him room to head down the hall.
“Tell me what you are thinking.” His voice was hard,
rough, and felt like silk against her skin.
“Can’t you just read my mind?”
“I would rather you share your thoughts with me.”
She winced. Cross that question off the list.
“If you need more time―”
“I have questions.”
Dimitri slowly nodded and moved to the side allowing
Kerstyn to slip past him. He closed the doors and, for a heartbeat, they stood
in complete darkness. Then candles began to flicker, casting their soft glow
about the room as a fire sprang to life in the large hearth.
Kerstyn jumped from the sudden change.
“Did you do that?” she asked, her voice a whisper.
“I can do many things.”
“You said that earlier.”

Love At Stake Series.
Thank you so much for hosting by book on your blog and I'm thrilled you enjoyed Caressed by Night.
I would like to wish "good luck" everyone who enters the giveaway. I hope you all have/had a lovey weekend.
I haven't read a complete vampire series yet, but I have some paranormal series that I am reading with vampires, wolves, witches, fae, everything. I have been hesitant as the Twilight sparkley ones turn me off. I am currently working through Lei Shaw's Destiny series. Loving the strong vampires. I also have Felicity Heaton on my kindle waiting for my summer break.

The BDB series by JR Ward, Night Huntress series by Jeanniene Frost, Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian.
that would have to be the black dagger brotherhood series
Used to be Sookie Stackhouse series, but now am leaning toward The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa.
