Happy Saturday Everyone, and Welcome to another addition of The Rack. Today we are torturing Joanne about her new book Stealing Fate. Boy was that a great read!! Under some "gentle persuasion" she agreed to trek down and have a seat to talk to me....lol...here's what she had to say:
Hello and Welcome to the dungeon! I’m so glad you could join us in the torture
chamber today, just slide the chains over and have a seat. Watch out for Marcus..he bites…hard. Aria
won’t though. My pets have to get used to visitors. They aren’t used to seeing
our…guests..er…mobile. Would you like a
drink?
Yes. Perhaps some water for my Valium! *Slaps away a spider*
Now Now, You can’t be
mean to Aria’s babies..they are pretty friendly…lol.
So tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi, my name is Joanne Brothwell, I’m the author of Stealing
Breath, a paranormal romance by Crescent Moon Press. I live in the country on
the Canadian prairie where my stories are inspired by the dead things that
appear at my doorstep on a daily basis.
Do you have any hobbies?
Writing is my main hobby, but I also like to draw, paint and
play around with photomanipulation.
What was your biggest influence that steered you towards
writing?
My mom. She has always read, for as long as I can remember, and
I started to read her books when I was about thirteen. She got me hooked on
Stephen King, Anne Rice and John Saul. After that, it was all about the horror!
Tell us about Stealing Breath.
Deep in the backwoods of North Dakota , twenty-one year old Sarah Ross
is searching for a missing child when she is attacked by a glowing-eyed,
transparent creature known to the Navajo as a Skinwalker. Sarah survives,
destroying the monster by using mysterious abilities she didn’t even know she
had.
Bloody and bruised, Sarah flees the scene and runs directly into Evan Valente, a handsome, charismatic stranger who helps her back to safety. But what is Evan doing out in the forest at five in the morning?
Turning to a healer, Sarah is shocked to learn her eyes bear the mark of the Indigo Child—an evolved human with the ability to feel the emotions of others. But her indigo aura also makes her an easy target for those who wish to consume her powerful essence.
Soon, Sarah is falling deeply in love with Evan and wants nothing more than to follow her heart and trust that he is the man he says he is. But she can't ignore the lingering feeling that Evan is hiding a terrible secret. The deeper she digs, the more danger she faces, leading her on a course that will force her to face the darkest, innermost parts of her soul.

Is this going to be a series or stand alone?
This is the first in the series. Book two, Silencing Breath,
is in for formatting right now, and will be released in 2013. Book three is half
written.
Tell us about some of your other books.
The only other book I have available right now is my novella,
Vicarious, a prequel to Stealing Breath. In this short story, the main
character from SB, Sarah, realizes she has empathic abilities, while
simultaneously learning a hard lesson about bad boys.
Do you have a favorite character or book that you have written?
Evan Valente, the hero in Stealing Breath, is my favorite
character. He comes from a blueprint in my mind of what the perfect man would
be like, plus a tortured past!
I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?
Sex scenes are hard because too much description and it
sounds like a porno mag. Too little and it reads like Young Adult. It’s hard to
get just the right amount of heat!
Are any of your characters reflective of you?
Oh, sure! Sarah is definitely reflective of me. Not in the sense that she is a Mary Sue, but she definitely comes from a place within me. But then again, so do all of my characters.

Who is your favorite book heroine?
Rowan from The Witching Hour. Loved her – she is so smart!
Who is the character in this book that pulls at your
heartstrings the most?
Evan. I love him. Love.
What is your favorite mystical creature?
Do you have any advice for newer authors?
Either walk away before you get in too deep, or dig your
heels in and give’er!
Where are your books available?
Amazon:
Barnes and Noble:
What can we expect from you in the future?
The next two in the Stealing Breath series (with a
possibility of more), and a brand new series, a sci-fi fantasy currently called
The Fifth Daughter of Eve.

Ok, I'm going to prove that I live under a rock again, but who are Christian Grey and Anastasia Steel?
Sorry!!!
I will go with Angelina Jolie and George Clooney, lol! Thanks for the interview and the giveaway!
cguidroz2(at)cox(dot)net
Alex Pettyfer and Amanda Seyfried. Thanks for the giveaway. Tore923@aol.com
Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox!
Wow I haven't read FSOG so I don't have a great bead on the characters but I think that Robert Downey Jr should play in anything, then who cares about the woman LOL! Carin

Lisa and I are living under the same rock...but I am guessing that these characters are from the 50 Shades books. Sorry, no guess for me since I haven't succumbed and read them yet.
Stealing Breath sounds good! I love the skinwalker legend, and you have a nice take on it. Evan sounds droolworthy as well.
That's a hard choice to make. Whoever plays Anastasia should have the air of innocence yet still have something about her that would attract Christian so I would have to say either Anne Hathaway, Keira Knightley, or Natalie Portman. As for Christian I think it should be either Channing Tatum or Josh Duhamel.
I have to go with Lisa & Lexi. I have not read any of this series, just have not caved in to read them considering the mixed reviews I have seen, would rather read things that I am more certain I will enjoy.
I don't think that I have ever read anything with Skinwalkers before. This does sound like a good story.
Kristin Bell can so do the innocence that would be needed for Anastasia as well as the bit of naughtiness. Alexander Skarsgård has that hardness and sleek take charge sexiness needed for Christian. I am not sure that they would have chemistry though....
Vanessa Marano (Switched at Birth) and Billy Miller (Y&R) would be excellent in these roles!
Hmmmm.... how about Anne Hathaway and Robert Downey Jr.
My vote is for Matt Bomer but am undecided for Anastasia.

Sad to say I havent read the books so I really dont know who would be good to play those characters. Sorry
DawnSullivan88@verizon.net
Jeffrey Donovan would be my choice for Christian Grey and Nina Dobrev would make a great Anastasia. sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com
Hi Tamsyn,
Lily and Matt? I could definitely see it!
Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence. =D
best wishes, Linda xo
I'm new to the books so I don't think I can give an honest answer at this point. Although my answer to any male Character is Chris Hemsworth. mmmmm lol
Ian Somerhalder or Ryan Kwanten for Christian. I haven't really thought about who should play Ana, but definitely NOT Kristin Stewart.
Hi Lisa,
Christian and Anastasia are from Fifty Shades of Grey. Definitely a must-read!
Hi Crystal - Angelina and George? I think I could go with George. Not so much with Angelina, though!
Tore - Alex and Amanda would be perfect!
Hi SA - I think Shia LeBouf is a little, um, not hot/powerful enough to be Christian. And Megan Fox seems a little like she's been around the bush a few times, you know?
Hi Carin - Robert Downey Jr. would be a great pick!
Thanks, Lexi!
Hi Cassie,
I agree with all of your picks - any of them would be great!
Thanks, June!
Hi Lavender - Alexander and Kristin. Hmm... I'm not sure, but I think I like!
Hey, Lisa! I don't know anything about your suggestions, so I can't comment.
Hi Filia - Robert Downey Jr could do anything and I'd love it!
Yvette,
Yep, Matt would be so great!
Dawn, you might have to check FSOG out!
Sdy,
Nina would be a sweet choice (I love her, btw!)
Hi Linda,
Fassbander and Jennifer? I don't know...?
Hey Melissa,
Yep - Christian Hemsworth. MMmm Yummy!
Hi Drake,
Go Ian!
Thank you so much for having me, Nikki!
I think I agree that Matt Bomer has the look of Christian Grey but I'm not sure he can get into the the Christian persona when he is in the "red room of pain." Not sure who could play Anastasia. Anne Hathaway would be good, but I think we need someone a little younger, possibly unknown. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!

Hi Elizabeth,
I think Matt does have that look, but as for the ability to pull off the character, who knows.
