Saint Patrick's Day Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to this spot on the Hop!!  I sit at number 75 right now!  I have a special treat for you!!  Today I have Xavier Axelson as a guest and he is offering up three of his recent releases.  I have read 2 of them and let me tell you, you are in for a real treat!!  Don't forget to comment for your chance on winning the grand prize.  Our question to answer is this: If you caught a leprechaun what would you wish for?  Now take it away Xavier!!

I’ve wanted to write to this blog for awhile but something kept getting in the way, oh yeah EVERYTHING kept getting in the way.  Two new releases, my Examiner.com columns are like spoiled twins who need constant attention and what has taken a back seat?  Oh yeah, my writing!  The most important thing in my life, isn’t that always the way?

But that’s not what this post is about, hell no!  This post is about St. Patty’s Day!  I love St. Patrick’s Day!  I’m a wee bit Irish, my grandmother was all Irish and I grew up eating boiled dinners on St. Patrick’s day and many other times during the year.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about I’ll tell you.  A boiled dinner is a pot full of boiled potatoes, cabbage, corned beef, and carrots.  In my family, this was usually eaten with red wine vinegar splashed on the cabbage, butter on the tates and mustard for the beef.  I’m a vinegar nut so I tended to end up with a bit of it on everything.

After I left home my tradition of celebrating St. Pats Day evolved to include drunken parades that raged the day away in a blur of jell-o shots (often green) and rowdy street fights, bar fights and tons of Guinness, always Guinness.  In Boston I used to indulge in Guinness Floats which is a pint with vanilla ice cream on top.  DYNAMITE!  Well it was when I was…younger…Now I don’t know, but I remain a stout (no pun intended) lover of Guinness.  In fact, I remain a stout lover of anything Irish.  St Patty’s is really the one day I feature my Irishness, I eat corned beef and cabbage no matter what.  I’ve been known to drive all over looking for my blessed plate of the stuff.

When I was a waiter at a restaurant that served it, I would go into work and stake my claim on a plate before the night even got started.  I have fond memories sitting at that restaurant counter well after closing and close to midnight eating my plate of Irish goodness.  Last year I found a great place close to my home that was THE place to be for corned beef.  There was an hour wait and wait I did!  OMG and then there’s the shamrock shake.  Ok maybe not SO Irish but I must have at least one to feel the season.  Oh and I discovered the amazing bread place by my house has homemade Irish Soda Bread, so you know I bought a loaf and could have cried it was so good.

So what is this blog about?  It’s about getting your grub on and using St Patrick’s Day as an excuse.  I love to drink, eat and be Merry all the time, and so should YOU!  Oh yeah and if you haven’t picked up copies of my two latest sexy, scary, yummy books, Earthly Concerns and Menage…HURRY up!  I’m waiting for you.  I’ll be at the bar with my corned beef and pint.

Not only is Xavier a great author but he is tons of fun and super busy. So what can you win here?  I don't know about you but that guest post made me hungry...so did this book which one lucky winner will walk away with:
Perfection isn’t everything, although it’s everything Leo wants. His desire to become the perfect chef may keep him at the top of his class, but it drives his friends and family crazy while keeping love and passion on the back burner. That is until he meets Dock, owner and chef of the new and popular restaurant, The Birches. Although Dock isn’t a trained chef, Leo finds the food he cooks delectable and the man behind the food irresistible. The lessons taught at the hands of an untrained cook may be just what this uptight chef needs to let go.

In the line of duty, decisions that will change your life forever are made in a split-second. Nobody knows that better than Officer Michael Carmac, whose fatal split-second decision haunts his days. Tormented by guilt, Michael seeks solace in a bottle and the friendship he has with his partner, Officer Bertram Angel. But the more he leans on Angel for support, the more Michael discovers a longing that he’s kept hidden for too long. Can Angel help ease the pain of guilt or will Michael’s hidden desires be the end of their friendship?
When Pryor's daughter Lily is taken by a wolf, Pryor is convinced she has turned into the creature he sees lurking in his woods. He swears she promises to return to him. But is it his despair and desperation making him see things or is there something more lurking in the shadows of the forest? When he meets Ned, a silversmith who helps him with a plan to bring his daughter back into his life, he begins to live again. But can his newfound love help ease the horror that may be waiting? What if the ultimate horror isn’t when Lily was taken but it’s when Lily returns and he realizes his nightmare has only just begun...

So what do you need to do to win?  Just fill out the rafflecopter!!  And remember to hop on over and check out these great blogs!! http://carrieannryan.blogspot.com/

I don't think I'd wish for anything. I remember the story about the monkey's paw and what went wrong every time someone wished for something.

That depends on what he's capable of...I'd wish for my 2 year old nephew back. If bringing back the dead isn't a possibility, I guess I'd just wish for some writing/publishing luck for myself and a couple friends :-)

If I caught a leprechaun I would wish for the ability to stretch time. I would love to have more time to read, to sleep, to observe the sunsets and the nature in slow motion.

If leprechauns can't grant such wishes I would go with bottomless money bag
