Giveaway + Book Tour Kickoff with PI Barrington's Isadora Daystar

Good Morning my Darlings!!  I have a special treat for you today here on CEWTNK.  My first tour for BTS has been plotted out and scheduled, and is kicking off its pre-tour party here today!!  Everyone welcome P.I. Barrington and her book Isadora Daystar!! Below you will find the book details, the tour schedule, my review, and the rafflecopter for you to enter to win you own copy!!  Let's start by taking a look at the book details:

When drug addled assassin Isadora DayStar finally snags a major interplanetary killing job, she thinks it will both support her habit and revise her status as the laughingstock of her profession. Instead, she embarks on a journey that brings her face to face with her tortured past.
After botching yet another assassination job, ex-military gunner Isadora steals a highly desired new type of weapon as payment. To escape her infuriated employer she stows away on a plague infested ship that spirals downward toward the nearest planet. In an attempt to escape the crashing craft, Isadora finds both an escape pod and the only other survivor, a teenage girl, Iphedeiah. They take flight on a series of encounters from murderous monks to interplanetary pirates while Isadora tries to hide her addiction along the way. They slowly form a grudging bond that grows into friendship and trust. When Isadora kills an old contact to save the girl, they are separated only to be captured individually and then tortured by Caine Dureaux, Isadora's employer to extract the location of the weapon. Who will blink first?

My Review:

Isadora really isn't a likable person.  I spent the first part of the book in between a state of pity and disgust for her.  She really made some terrible choices.  But after the pieces of her past start filtering in, you begin to at least understand her.  She is basically using every means at her disposal to forget. Forget her past, forget what she does for a living, forget what she has done.  Not to mention that she is a full blown drug-addict. She really needed help.  Unfortunately her luck with falling into helping hands is non-existent.  Her situation constantly titters on a bad to worse scale. It makes you wonder at some point why she just doesn't give up.  But she doesn't.  She soldiers on and halfway through the book I realized I liked her.  She is such a realistic character, while all of her flaws and habits, its really hard not to.  Then the book throws in some shocking twists, as only a good sci-fi book can,and your wondering if what you think is going on is even possible.  Sure enough, it turns out that it is :O) This was different, and takes you into the darker side of an addicts personality.  It really is scary, both what she does to get it, what got her addicted to it, and the guilt that she is trying to bury.I enjoyed this book.  It was nice to come out of my box and try something new.  I wasn't disappointed in the least!!

So we are celebrating here today the kick-off to P.I. Barrington's tour.  She will also be featured on these blogs:

Hello and welcome to this stop on Sascha's book tour!!  This book is part of Decadent's One Night Stand series, and you haven't had the pleasure of reading a book from this, then today is your lucky day!!  After giving you all the book details and a little about the author, I am going to also tell you how you can score your own copy!!  But first lets take a look at the premise and sneak a peek inside:

Title:  Surrender to Love (Decadent's 1NightStand Series)

Author:  Sascha Illyvich

Publisher:  Decadent Publishing

Length:  11,500 words

Sub-Genres:  BDSM, Contemporary, Erotic

BLURB:

In order to cure the dreaded creative rut she’s in, Livia ends up in Las Vegas by suggestion from her therapist.  Oh and there’s a catch.  Livia‘s been set up to have a one night stand with a very handsome man who promises her freedom through submission.  Can she surrender to more than just passion?

EXCERPT :

“I want to know true freedom. I’m tired of living this life where I’m afraid all the time and I don’t feel in control.” Livia stood from her chair, aware of the therapist’s intense gaze.

Dr. Gena tapped her pen on the yellow legal bad beside her but didn’t look up. “How do you fare with change, Livia?”

She shuddered visibly. Who was Dr. Gena kidding? Livia looked down at the beige carpet and blinked, speaking softly. “I don’t like it.”

“Because you can’t control things.”

“Yes.” Livia nodded and looked at her therapist. A cream-colored top stretched over the doctor’s figure while a pair of gray suit pants hugged motherly hips. Her hair was held up by pins, exposing a slender neckline. A little makeup helped take off years and the cool stare Dr. Gena gave her showed more wisdom than the average person. “Because I have no control.”

Dr. Gena looked up from her notes and twirled the pen around her fingers. “Have you considered the idea that maybe you can ride the change, letting it take you to new experiences, while you control how you behave, how you respond to it?”

Was her therapist insane? Livia wrung her hands together. “No.”

“Then maybe it’s time you look into the idea of moving beyond what and who you think you are. If the dead no longer help you, then they only serve to weigh you down.”

It became harder to breath suddenly. Her past wasn’t anything special, it just was. A life of fear of going outside, of being around other people, and not being understood.

Dr. Gena rose and set a hand on Livia’s chin. With a little pressure, she tipped Livia’s eyes to meet hers. “You truly are a strong woman. You’ve survived a lot in your lifetime. I have some friends in Las Vegas I can recommend you to. It will be a shock to your system, but I think you’ll adjust pretty quickly, given what we’ve discussed in your sessions over the last few years.”

She gasped, exhaling the breath she didn’t realize she’d held. The idea was ludicrous! Her? Move out of her sleepy, one-horse town and into a den of iniquity? She began chewing her lower lip. “You’re asking me to uproot my entire life? Here and now, to leave Colorado and move to Las Vegas?”

Dr. Gena nodded. Her expression warmed and she cocked her head slightly to one side, offering compassion to Livia. “Some of the toughest things I’ve ever asked of you as a patient have brought about surprising results. You’ve made a home for yourself. You’re a successful artist. My male secretary no longer frightens you.”

The corners of Livia’s lips turned upward. “Yeah.”

“There’s the twinkle in your eye. You know you do that often when I’m right?”

An eyebrow rose. “Yeah?”

Dr. Gena nodded again. “Yup. Moving to Las Vegas will help you gain control over your life. As I said, I have some friends who can help you. I’ll make phone calls tomorrow and set things up. Besides, what you probably need is a good fuck.”

Livia’s eyes widened in abject horror. “You want me to what?”

Dr. Gena’s released Livia’s chin and sat back down. Her tone remained static though Livia detected a hint of amusement in her voice. “You need to learn the adult world now. You’re ready for this.”

She couldn’t believe how nonchalant her therapist had just been with what she’d proposed. “You’re suggesting I go out and find a man. I’ve never done something like that and—”

“No, I’m suggesting something I’ll set you up with. And the stranger will be vetted just like you will be.” Dr. Gena’s lips pursed together in a thin line. “Any man you’ll meet in Las Vegas will either be a charmer, a bastard, a drunk, or a cheater. At least with this service you’ll know ahead of time what to expect. You’re no virgin, but you’re new to life. And this experience will change you.”

Her eyes narrowed. She stamped her foot. “I don’t want change. I want control!”

The therapist leaned back and crossed one leg over the other. She met Livia’s gaze. “You’ll have total control. Trust me.”

Livia continued chewing her lip. Thoughts spun around wildly in her head. What if she screwed up? She couldn’t possibly recover from embarrassment like that. She’d never had a good lover. The few she’d taken in the past had been mediocre at best. Since the last one two years ago, she hadn’t had another sexual experience.

Dr. Gena continued, “It’s not the only way to regain control over your life, and learn to go outside of yourself. But it is a primal way. What,” she paused, tapped her pad, “I mean to say is that you’re an artist. Don’t you use life experiences to create? And haven’t you been in a slump lately?”

Livia nodded slowly. She saw where this was going and hated her therapist for being right. “Yes, but those experiences I’ve been able to mimic. To pull from other sources—”

Dr. Gena leaned forward, setting a hand on Livia’s shoulder. “And not get hurt in the process. Therefore you don’t learn, you don’t grow. Who knows? You might not get hurt from this.”

Tension formed in Livia’s body.

Her therapist’s light touch eased some of that stress from her. “I know you can do this.”

Livia swallowed the lump in her throat. She could do this. She could regain control of her life, starting with sex. That made sense, right? Somewhere in the back of her twisted mind, it had to.

Slowly, the doctor pulled away from Livia, running her hand through her patient’s thick brown curls before setting both hands on her shoulders. Then she looked her straight in the eyes. “I think you’re ready for the world, babycakes.”

Giveaway and Review: Perpetual Light By: Jordan K Rose

Fate is cruel. Especially when the one you’ve sworn to love for all eternity, the very soul who changed your destiny is the last person you should trust.

After more than three hundred years of running, Lucia Dicomano must make a choice.

Forced to take her place as a Pharo of Redemption, the divine slayer needs to master her forgotten powers. Lucia turns to Vittorio, the one vampire she’s failed to deliver from eternal damnation. But overcoming smoldering remnants of love, lust and anger aren’t their only obstacles.

Samuel, who may know Lucia better than she knows herself, hunts her with a fervor stoked by a thousand years of vengeful hatred. His plan—capture and enslave the weakened Pharo then take control of her elusive power.

Can Lucia trust Vittorio long enough to reclaim her powers? Or will she have no choice but to kill him and battle Samuel alone?

My Review:

Every since she can remember Lucia has dreamed of a beautiful man named Vittorio.  He haunts her nights with his laughing gold/green eyes and adventures wrapped around a beautiful vineyard
somewhere in Italy.  The dreams feel so real she would swear that they were memories.  But as amazing and wonderful as the dreams are, the nightmares are equally horrific.  For years Lucia has lived believing humans were the only thing that existed in this world.  It takes one party to bring all of  the disillusionment crashing down on her.

Vittorio has spent 360 years tracking Lucia through her lifetimes.  He had caught up with her a few times but always while she was dying or after she had already gone.  Vittorio has loved Lucia since she was 14 years old, lol, well since the first time he knew her at 14.  Lucia had existed countless lifetimes before she met Vittorio, but wondered if she had truly ever lived before she met him.  Theirs was the idyllic type of romance.  Both young and in love, they married after Lucia turned 16.  Vittorio and Lucia were blissfully happy and remained that way for many years.  But all that happiness ended when Vittorio was kidnapped and turned by a vampire.  Lucia's powers were awakened that night as well and she began her training hoping to save her husband and destroy the creature that snatched him away.

So now we come crashing back to Lucia's new life. It seems that with every reincarnation it takes a long time for her memories to surface.  Although she had dreamed of Vittorio every night, she passed it off as dreams and refused to believe that they were memories. Until she meets him face to face.  Imagine dreaming of the same man almost every night and then meeting him in the flesh.  That had to be quite a shock. Lucia is really stubborn and at times acts out childishly.  She seems to always be running from her fate instead of running towards it.  These flaws make her a more realistic character.  We all have a tendency to drag our feet about something, even though in her case its saving the world :)  Vittorio was my favorite character.  He never lost his humanity.  He retained so much from his human life that it was hard to tell that he was a vampire.  He even attended church.

This book completely fascinated me.  It put a fresh spin on the vampire tale and til death do we part..lol.  I really enjoyed this book and it really is hard to believe that this was the debut novel for Jordan. It ended extraordinarily well but with sooooo much left open.  I really really hope she plans on making this a series.  There is just too many paths that this book can take and so much left unanswered.  I can't wait for the next book to which I am hopeful there will be one!!  Great Great read!!!

Giveaway and Guest Post with Julianne Snow and her book Days with the Undead

Good Morning my goultastick viewers!!  Today we are dipping into the other side of the night scale with zombies!!  Everyone loves zombies!  So what do you think? Zombies as a sexy lead?  Can you picture it?  A hot make-out scene with a rotting flesh corpse?  Coping a feel on a sexy nipple ring, only to have it come off in your hands?  Come-on!!  That's funny!  Well I asked my friend Julianne for her perspective since she writes some wickedly gruesome books. Stay tuned after her amazing post for a sneak peek inside her book and a chance to win your own copy!!  Let it RIP Julianne!!

Today I’m honoured to be offering a guest post for Close Encounters with the Night Kind. Nikki is great and her blog is awesome – check it out for some eye candy (if you’re into that sort of thing *winks*) and wonderful interviews, guest posts and reviews. Considering the fact that I write about the Undead – the rotting, flesh consuming kind – I had to take a moment to wonder if the Zombie could take a place among the werewolves and vampires of the romance and erotica genres.

Zombies: The Romantic Lead?

It’s an interesting question. Could the zombie take over the top spot as the romantic lead in books and films? Before you make a decision, let’s consider a few specifics first.
Intellectual Attraction Can a monster that is thought to have no intelligence hold the collective heart of a nation in a romantic story? This seems like a no brainer. Zombies don’t really have the ability to think so the chance of an intellectual attraction developing between your favourite heartthrob and a Zombie is fairly slim to none. There can be no intellectual attraction where there is no intellectual stimulation. Do the Undead make you think? Yes; but what you are thinking about is not how great they look in their tattered and bloodied blue jeans. Instead, you are doing your best to escape their clutches. Interesting thought… Perhaps the Zombie can be resurrected after all as the stalker that continues their pursuit until it catches the heroine. Certainly gives it a Stockholm syndrome feel, doesn’t it? Albeit, there is a certain appeal in some circles for the quintessential airhead – mayhap the Zombie fits that particular bill a little too perfectly?
Physical Attraction Physical attraction is influenced by our personal tastes. It’s fairly safe to assume that a fresh Zombie may still retain that youthful appeal, the firm hard body, or the rippling biceps but once that flesh starts rotting away, are you sure you’re going to want to be leaning in close for a kiss? When you’re really considering the romantic lead of your dreams, you picture someone that you want; someone that you can imagine yourself cuddling up with on a rainy night without the constant fear of nibbling. There is absolutely nothing physically attractive about a shambling corpse pursuing you. Call me crazy, but that is one embrace I’d rather avoid.
Mental Attraction Mental attraction begins with affection, that feeling of connection to someone you’ve just met. During the Zombie Apocalypse, you may meet other survivors; in some cases, the chance may be slim but you never know. So you happen to meet a nice survivor that you develop an affection for – in times of stress, connection can come at you quickly and from any direction. Heck, consider the fact that you have a common enemy – that’s a huge connection. You may act on a momentary fondness while your survivor beau is living and breathing but will that soft spot still exist after death? Will your attraction sour the minute that their heart stops beating? Can you really feel affection for something that feels no affection for you, for something that only craves your flesh and not in the carnal way?
Spiritual Attraction Set aside your religious beliefs for this one – the Undead certain will. Spiritual attraction is something that runs deeper and encompasses your mind, body and soul. It seems almost silly to wonder if the Undead even have a soul – once a person dies, their soul it thought to depart to a better place. In a world full of the dying, the recently dead and the Undead, I’d like to think that is the case. And if that is the case, a Zombie is only going to have one of the three requisite pieces to form a spiritual attraction. Guess that thought is out.
There is one last thing for us to consider… Given that studies show that we tend to base our attraction to another on smell, the chance that you would choose one of the Undead is highly doubtful. The smell of decomposition certainly cannot be confused with highly potent pheromones. In the end, I cannot help but conclude that the werewolves and vampires of the world will remain firmly entrenched as the go-to supernatural creatures for romance. Keeping in mind that Zombie erotica does exist, I cannot help but think that Zombies aren’t going to be gracing the pages or screens anytime soon as the next sex symbol.

LOL!!!!   That was great Julianne!  I really enjoyed that piece.  So lets take a look at the book and get a sneak peek inside:

It’s a journal of survival.

Five people set out to escape the Undead who have risen too close to home. Join the emotional and physical struggle as they began on the third day after the awakening of Brooks VanReit, as they are recorded from the point of view of Julie, a former pathologist and part-time survivalist.

Each entry is geared toward helping those who want to help themselves and maybe give a few that don’t a swift kick in the ass. Join our group of survivors on their journey through these Days with the Undead.

 Excerpt:

"We started a silly conversation today that just reminded us of how much of the world we’re going to miss. Ben posed the question, asking each of us what we were going to miss the most. Immediately Max answered with Melissa, then followed it up with fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and cold milk.
Bob was quiet for a moment and countered with seeing a long awaited movie on opening night at the theater with the never ending bag of hot buttered popcorn and ice cold Coca-Cola.
Ben piped in with long walks along the boardwalk of the Beaches on Lake Ontario’s shore while eating ice cream. After that the three of them took turns trying to one up each other. Max: cold beer. Bob: vacations. Ben: still warm pecan butter tarts from his favorite bakery. Bob: lazy Sunday mornings with the paper and a cup of coffee. Ben: the joyful, innocent play of puppies at the pet store. Max: listening to the new album from his favorite group. Ben: sleeping in, just because you can. Bob: sex.
Bob’s last answer stopped each of them for a moment. Max turned to me from the passenger seat and gave me a long, hard look. It wasn't a look that I interpreted as interest in sex; these men were my family and I trusted them implicitly.
After staring at me for a moment, he said that I hadn't offered an idea of what I will miss most. I looked at him, hating to end the moment of boyish excitement. My answer: freedom."

And a little bit about Julianne:

About the Author - Julianne Snow

It was while watching Romero's Night of the Living Dead at the tender age of 6 that solidified Julianne’s respect of the Undead. Since that day, she has been preparing herself for the (inevitable) Zombie Apocalypse. While classically trained in all of the ways to defend herself, she took up writing in order to process the desire she now covets; to bestow a second and final death upon the Undead.

As the only girl growing up in a family with four children in the Canadian countryside, Julianne needed some form of escape. Her choice was the imaginations of others which only fostered the vibrancy of her own. The horror and forensic/crime thriller genres top her list of favourites, but she can never turn down a good science fiction, fantasy or mystery read.

Julianne appears in the anthology Women of the Living Dead with a story entitled The Living Dead at Penderghast Manor. Look for her short stories in future anthologies. Days with the Undead: Book One is her first full-length book, the basis of which can be found in her popular web serial of the same name.
A BIG Thank you for joining us on CEWTNK Julianne!! I hope you'll consider coming back soon.  So up for grabs is a copy of her book!  Just fill out the rafflecopter!  Good Luck!!

Giveaway and Interview with author Shannan Albright and her book Passion's Flight

Good Morning my friends!!  Shannan Albright has agreed to my brain probe, and I am translating the answers to my questions as we speak.  I hate it when the machine malfunctions and it spits out the results in ancient Greek.  Like everyone speaks that!  LoL!!  Shannan was a good sport about the whole thing and gave me a second chance at an interview the old fashion way.  This is the insight I was able to glenn from her head about her and her newest book, Passion's Flight:

How old were you when you first realized you wanted to write?
I was eleven and just finished Gone with the Wind.

Oh!!  I loved that movie!! Tell us a little bit about the book.
With ferals attacking the human populace in greater numbers than ever before, Tegan Murin has his hands full these days. When he is ordered to find and destroy a deadly artifact known as Oman’s Seal, deal with his estranged step-father and find a missing archeologist. He’s a bit irritable. Add into the mix a recurring dream of one sexy seductress leading him to his death… well, you get one very pissed off were-panther.
Kyra Navarone is an archeologist who is more than what she seems. Escaping from the ferals who captured her, she ends up running into the brooding, irritating man who makes her blood run hot just with one look. Her life depends on the betrayal of this compelling man, but how can she live with herself afterward?
With ferals, and an Atlantean Tracker closing in on them, they are running out of time, Tegan and Kyra must learn to trust each other in order survive. More hangs in the balance than their lives. Their actions could very well spell the end of everything for not just their world, but the world hidden beneath the waves as well.

This was a great read!  I really enjoyed becoming immersed in so many different characters! What made you choose this genre?
I have always loved the classic monster stories and grew up loving vampire and werewolf movies. Then add to the mix romance and I couldn’t pass it up.

Yes..romance goes good with monsters!  LOL!! Most authors have an unusual story or way that they come up with their ideas for books…Do you have one?
Well, I’m really spoiled living in a tourist town. All I need to do is go to Old Town where the Fremont Experience is and I can find a million stories. People watching is a great past time for a writer.

What is the key element in your character creation?
They all are fighters. Whatever the circumstance that made them, they all have fought their way to get comfortable in their skins.

That is really brought out in this book.  What was your biggest influence that steered you towards writing?
My English teachers in High School, the authors I read and a dear friend who is no longer with me. I dedicated Passion’s Flight to Kyle Ferrell who would be proud to see I “finally” accomplished my dream. The other dedication is to Elizabeth, my cat who kept me company long into the night while I wrote. She was with me for nineteen years.

You have never been loved, til you have been loved by a cat!  I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?
Big battle scenes are the hardest since you have to remember who’s fighting who and where they all are in relation to the hero or heroine’s point of view. It can get very confusing real quick and a lot of times I have to act out the scene physically in order to see if it will work.

Now that would be fun to watch!!  Are sex scenes difficult for you to word?
Surprisingly no, and I thought they would be the hardest to get down. I write easier when dealing with strong emotions.

Do you see yourself writing in another genre?
Absolutely. I have a historical in mind set in Elizabethan times. Hey, that rhymed Lol!

LOL!! Has your family been supportive?

I wouldn’t  have gotten this far without the support of my husband. Even though he has never read any of my work, his friends and family have. He is not a reader at all, but has no trouble giving me the room I need to create my worlds.
Are any of your characters reflective of you?
Good Question. I find a tiny bit of me in a few of my characters, but there are more who are nothing like me.

So you see a little of yourself in your characters.  What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I’m an artist so I oil paint, read and love to dance.

I love to dance to!  Who is your favorite book heroine?
David Eddings Polgara. She was the Sorceress in his Belgariad series. It is a Fantasy series but she was one very well rounded character who was comfortable in her skin.

Do you have any unusual habits that revolve around writing?
No, I just sit down and start writing.

What is your favorite mystical creature?
It’s a tossup between Dragons and Mermaids

What were some of your biggest challenges at the beginning of your career?

How to gracefully take rejection and make it work for you, all those rejections made me tougher, more focused and determined to become published and get into the workshops I needed to hone my craft.

That's also some pretty good advice for aspiring authors! How do you feel about reader comments?
I love hearing from readers, good, bad or indifferent their opinions matter to me and I will listen to what my gut tells me when it comes to negative comments. I realize you can’t please everyone. If you could it would be a very boring place to exist.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Toughen up, keep writing and never say die. I’ve been writing since 1980 and I got published in 2010.  Be tenacious is my advice and you will get there.

This has been quite a long journey for you.  Where are your books available?
You can buy them through
http://www.evernightpublishing.com
Amazon Kindle
Book Strand
1Place for Romance
Barns and Nobel

What can we expect from you in the future?

I am finishing up the second novella in my Knights of Excalibur series for eXtasy Books. I also have a book I’m finishing and hope to get to an agent. And of course the third installment of the Dark Breed Series.

That sounds really yummy!!  Where can we reach you and become informed of updates?

Thank you so very much for having me on your wonderful Blog.

There is not a single thing in this business that I dislike. From first concept to putting ‘the end’ on my finished work, even the promoting I love it all. Words have always been my passion and will continue to be. That is what I think makes a true writer whether published or not.

Your Welcome Shannan!!  Let's take a look at the book details:

Tegan Murin has his hands full these days. Feral attacks are increasing, targeting humans, and now he is ordered to find and destroy a deadly artifact known as Oman’s Seal, deal with his estranged step-father and find a missing archaeologist. My Review:

I love a book that has a lot going on, and this one definitely filled the bill!!  We have shifters, vampires, mers, Atlanteans, and crazy human fanatical groups..lol.  There are also crossbreeds in there somewhere as well.  Our main character, Tegan, is a were-panther.  Yumm :) Well this sexy kitty has a bad attitude, authority problems, and issues when it comes to socializing and working with a team.  Cats are loners by nature and Tegan is no exception to this rule. Surprisingly enough, this kitty is also the doctor to a small team known as the Enforcers, which is made up of different types of immortals.  Tegan is asked by his estranged father to help him track down a missing archaeologist.  She has been taken because she has information leading to the whereabouts of a very powerful artifact.  Tegan is forced into accepting the mission.  But he is unprepared for the emotions that swamp him when Kyra finds him.

Kyra is one gigantic puzzle.  Raised on the run by her parents, she has never has time to make friends and is in fact a loner herself.  Work was the most important thing to her and she became quite successful in her chosen field.  But Kyra carries many secrets.  She has literally been running from her past that is just as eager to catch her.  Could this panther be the answer to her secret prayers?

Unprepared by the onslaught of emotions that are brought about when the pair meet, they nevertheless try to focus on their mission.  But being together alone, once to often, proves that their passion will not be denied.  I enjoyed this story.  You get to know a wide array of characters because there are several sub-plots going on at the same time.  It was enjoyable learning about all the different factions, and meeting different types of immortals.  Shannan has done a superb job incorporating all the species together.  This was an amazing read!  If you like spicy paranormal romances then this book is right up your alley!!  I can't wait to read the rest of the series.  This book was a real treasure!!

AN EROTIC PARANORMAL WESTERN
RELEASE DATE MARCH 27th, 2012

By Award Winning Erotica Author Leanore Elliott
A Hot Ride through the Wild Frontier….
Jess (Leather) was on a bloody trail to track down his father's beastly killers and Lacey got in his way. Will he give her up to have his revenge?
*HOT ADULT EXCERPT*

Jess slid her nude body up along his jeans and further up, gradually rubbing her bare skin over him as if she were a wet towel. Her nipples were tingling from the buttons on his shirt.
By the time he raised her belly to his face, Lacey gulped as she indeed became a moist shivering mess. She was constantly surprised by his sheer physical strength, his raising and holding her in the air seemed just a normal feat to him.

Jess used his tongue to trace a path up her silky folds and back down.

The feeling was like a blazing brush stroke of pure euphoria as she helplessly whimpered.

Raising his head, he quietly looked at her while that magnificent smile of his slowly appeared and spread out on his face.
The affect of this smiling sexiness to her already pounding heart was immediate and inescapable. Oh… Lacey almost huffed the thought aloud.

Jess dipped his head again and breathed a searing stream of warm air onto her tender skin as his mouth rested at her open thighs. “Open yourself to me.”

Slowly and with shaking hands, Lacey reached down and placed her fingers on either side of her folds, opening herself to his mouth. Her hands shook as she revealed herself to his eyes and lips while her soul seemed quietly bared to this savage cowboy as well. The vulnerable sensation of the act was exhilarating and completely terrifying at the same time.

The sky blue in his eyes darkened to simmering cobalt as he stared at her exposed skin. He raised his head and looked at her shivering body. “I will make you scream—again.”

She fought to hold her quivering body still and knew without a doubt or any pretense at self-delusion that she would ultimately and most certainly—scream.
He lowered his tongue and swiped her exposed nub back and forth.

"Ohh…" she breathlessly gasped.
Jess seemed empowered now as he nibbled her, and then latched on, sucking and drawing at her clit with his blazing mouth.

The true erotic experience of his lusciously talented tongue was even beyond the ecstatic bliss she'd previously guessed at. Her hands shook as she could feel the moisture from her pussy slide onto her fingers. “No, Jess. Oh, God!” she pleaded, as her whole body quavered and shook in his grasp.

Lacey knew that she would not last long as she nearly blacked out right there while being held aloft by this overwhelming man. No man had ever done her like this and even in her wettest dreams, she never envisioned anything close to this kind of overpowering stimulation.
With seemingly hungry enthusiasm, Jess lapped her, suckled and licked at her clit. He easily kept his strong grasp on her hips, raising her body up and down over his orally erotic tongue strokes.

Her body was no longer under her control, it seemed to be reduced to an existence of being just a seduction device, reduced to a powerless candy-stick being propelled up and down while her pussy was the lollipop center. He stroked this now pulsing core of Lacey's newfound encapsulated sexual world with warm, moist lashes of tonguing splendor. Now I know what real ecstasy is supposed to be like, she realized, while her body came alive in ways she never knew possible…..

Sin's Bite by Patricia Bates

Patrcia Bates is doing a unique sort of tour.  She has all of her books popping up a different stops, instead of just one.  She will be featured on my blog two more times for two other books.  I think this was a neat idea.  She writes a little bit of everything.  Sin's Bite is a short tale of a young vampyre meeting her mate:
Lady Kora has spent three hundred years within the hallowed walls of her ancestral home – now on the brink of becoming a full Vampire, she’s faced with the hardest choice ever…claim her mate, one sworn to hunt her kind…or spend eternity alone.

My Review:

This was a really intersting short.  It captured you and drew you right in.  The only frustrating thing was that it ended too quickly!!  I wanted more!!  LOL..so as you can see, I enjoyed it.  I just really wish it were longer.  Maybe Patricia will release a spinoff or a sequel.  Lady Kora spends every night alone, waiting until she is a full Vampyre.  Slayer hunts her kind and is hated by his own people.  He too spends his nights all alone.  Can these unlikey pair find comfort in each other's arms?  Maybe something more?

About the author:
Patricia Bates
Reading has been such a large part of my life. I cut my literary teeth on such author’s as Louis L’Amour, Nora Roberts and Janet Dailey. For me it wasn’t such a jump from reading the wonderful tales these author’s spun to imagining my own.

Soon I was writing poetry, short stories and by junior high I’d written my first full length romance novel. Since then I’ve taken my love of history and my passion for writing and combined them into what I hope will continue to prove a successful career.

With six books contracted, four of which are currently available in print. All are available in electronic format with the last two ebooks due for a release in May and the other in the summer. I’m currently working on three projects, an erotic paranormal romance featuring a witch who lovesChristmas, another Ancient Ireland novel, rich in the history of the Irish Celtic peoples, and plotting out a Cowboy Series tentatively titled “The James Gang”.

Of course I’ve got a lot more on the go. I’m developing and growing my editing company with some amazing authors, working on getting the books that Blade had revamped to fit the submission guidelines for some other publishers and keeping up on my writing and being a full time mom, working outside of the house…its amazing what I can manage in a 16 hour day.
