Sinfully Sunday with S.A. Price: Day 7, Deep Water (dragon elementals 2)

It's rather a sleepy Sunday, more so than a sinful one!   Hello Encounters and welcome to Day 7 of the thirteen days with S.A. Price!!  Dragons are on of my favorite types of Shifters, so back to the Elemental world we go.  You have already met Char, the older fire dragon and learned about Kael in his book.  Well let's take a look at Kael:

Bryn Case is a Dive instructor in one of the most beautiful places on earth at a very exclusive resort. On the evening she meets Kael, a sexy guest at the resort, she thinks she's found her soul mate. Kael on the other hand, a Water elemental dragon, knows Bryn, a Glacies demon, is exactly what he's been looking for his entire life, and curses it. After all that had happened so far, to lose his heart to a demon is not something he's prepared to do. Between treasure hunting and her love of the sea, Kael knows this woman is everything he's ever wanted. Its just finding and dealing with the demon that has her soul that's going to be the one thing standing between him and his destined mate...

If you read book one, then you know Kael isn't a very likable dragon.  He hates humans and was dead set to hate Char's mate, even though she was a demon (something he hates even more than humans).  I really think Al finally reached him a little, since he swooped in and saved her from her own queen. Even though the perks were large, that probably was the first time he had enjoyed himself in centuries.  With Char finding his mate, I truly believed it opened up all the other dragons hope of finding one too.  Even though Kael would never admit to wanting one.

Bryn was unlike any human he had ever met because the sea embraced her as it did him.  He was completely fascinated by her and hired her services for the week.  In the beginning he thought it was just fascination, but the more time he spent with her and the more he realized this was something else completely..

They all have the fear of being enslaved by the demons again and Bryn was tricked into selling her soul.  Can Kael face his own fears and follow his heart?   Can he save the one woman who might possibly be the one to save him?

  

It was an intriguing story and I honestly actually liked Kael at the end of the book. He was just harder to love than the others!  I cant wait for the next installment in this series!  Its fantastic so far!

Day 6 of the 13 Days of S.A.Price: The Soft Edge of Midnight

Believe it or not this was one of my favorite movies growing up and is kind of reminiscent of today's book:  The Soft Edge of Midnight.  It has a unicorn shifter couple that may have started out being the main story, but in my opinion the fallen in this book takes the spotlight.  I really hope we see more of Sammael (hint hint if your reading this S.A.).  Let's take a look at the book:

Karsten Morris is different. As a member of The Agency he’s one of their 

most successful operatives, always claming its luck that brings him through. 

It’s true enough, as a stallion unicorn in full control of his powers, luck is 

the least of what he’s got going for himself. An old race from The Glimmer, 

he’s been cut off from his realm and has lost all hope of ever going home, 

or finding a mate, an elusive and possibly extinct mare unicorn. 

Illori Swain is starting a new life. After a horrific ordeal in Africa, being the 

personal good luck charm for a rogue Fallen Angel, she’s determined to 

put the past behind her and start over, even forget about her own nature 

if needed. As the last female unicorn left in the worlds, shes resigned 

herself to the fate her sisters choose. Until one fateful day in Glasgow. 

Karsten recognizes the mate he thought he’d never find and Illori hopes 

for a future with foals and love. But nothing is ever cut and dry. 

Sammael, a Fallen Angel and hunter for Lucifer, is charged with finding 

and dispensing with the Mare unicorn. Lucifer isn’t so forgiving these days, 

and Sammael is already on thin ice, but when the hunter finds out there’s 

some competition coming from the bowels of hell, his plans have to 

change. 

Nybras, Devil of the Maze and Keeper of the Pleasures of Hell is 

unsatisfied with his role in the mess of things below. When he hears 

of the new mission Sam is charged with, he takes action. 

When Nybras gets his hands on Illori, Karsten and Sammael have to 

create an uneasy partnership in order to save the girl and neutralize the 

threat to their respective ways of life. It won’t be easy, but when is 

anything ever worth it easy?

Soo.. at first when I read this I was like unicorns?  I had read many of the duo's books by then so I was a bit skeptical at first, but it was unnecessary.  They do such a wonderful job infiltrating the light and the dark.  They kept the unicorns pure and innocent to a point, regardless of the chaos that was going on around them.   And then enters Sammael.....

At first I hated him.  He was a conceited, evil angry f***, but shockingly by the end of the story he was my favorite character.  You get to watch the progression and growth of the characters, especially his, throughout the story.  Another thing I love about their style of writing is that its layered.  You always have more than one story going on at the same time and if this series progresses, then it will be a continuation and you will get to see all the characters again.   I love that about their books!!  You never have to let go of your favorite characters!

The story itself was excellent.  Plenty of action throughout the book and plenty of sex too!!  You get a brief introduction to many characters and dip into all facets of the paranormal.  Lots of room for more stories and intrigues, with lost of fascinating characters!!  I can't wait for another taste!!

Day 5 of the 13 Days of S.A. Price: Sugar and SIn

Happy Friday Babies!!!  How goes the plans for your weekend?  A little excitement maybe?  Hopefully lots of it in between the sheets!!  Next up in the fabulousness that is S.A. Price is the Eververse series.  I'm one to caution you that these book have a bit of darkness in them, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good read.  Let's take a look:

The thing I like most about this authors books is that she pretty much stays on par with what you would expect from a demon and how the characters are so imperfect they are almost real.  She uses a lot of situations most people wouldn't be comfortable with but in my opinion perfectly fit the nature of the character.  When writing about darker beings, one would expect darker things and their acceptance of out of the ordinary situations, just seems right.  The girl characters are awesome in her series, always supportive and never judgy.  This book fits right on par with the 13 Shades series and introduces you to some of the main players in the series.  I like Fallon because out of all her characters (except maybe the dragons) he needed Astrid.  Happiness is a token all beings need!!!  It was a great read with lots of yummy sex!!

Day 4 of the 13 Days of S.A. Price : Fire in his Eyes

Its Thirsty Thursday and man would I love a couple of drinks before work this morning.  Unfortunately, alchol this early would be frown upon by my uptight boss so sober I must say.  Welcome to day 4!!  S.A. Price has an elemental dragon series that I really liked.  It links actually a couple of her series, which I think is really awesome.  It gives you the opportunity to revisit the characters you love!!  Lets take a look:

Alcyone Sterling, succubus and owner of Pinkys XXX has a secret admirer, who is leaving her exotic and rare flowers and jewelry beyond beautiful. She doesn't know who it is, and gets even more curious after a clandestine liaison in her bedroom involving a few silk ties and a blindfold.Char, Fire elemental and strongest of the last dragons left in the Eververse, is obsessed and in love with the young succubus, and recognizes her as his mate, regardless of her demon status. He has to have her, and will do anything to attain her. When the rest of what's left of his dying race decided to interfere, Char is forced to made some very rash decisions, all in the name of love.

So this book was awesome, just because a...it was about dragon shifters, and b... it was an extension of both the 13 shades series and the Eververse series (which we will be discussing later on in the week)! This is Chars story, who right now is the oldest of the fire dragons, with only a few being left out of the war.  Char was of a warrior class and hated the inactivity that the war cost them, along with the almost extinction of their species.  As it was they had been in hiding for many years and the oldest of them was dying.  

The book itself had many strong characters inside that branched out to have their own books, but this one was the catalyst that drove the dragons out of the dark and into the light.  Char has watched Alycone for a long time and has longed to touch her.  She calls to him in a way that no one ever has.  But Demons are forbidden.  Being Elementals they all have a particular thing that calls to them and fire demons had the ability to control Char.  Still he could not resist the call and jumps in.

Alycone was a sweet demon that had bargained her soul for beauty.  She was very unlike the rest of her succubi sisters, and kept her pleasures to a minimum.  She wanted something more and after being ignored most of her human life, she embraced becoming a demon, only to end up with a similar fate in their world.  Until him.  

These two lost souls come together and all years of lonesomeness and longing are swept away in one night.  In one night that perfect partner is found and bond is built that cannot be severed and must be revered.  This series is intense because the beings are ancient and the need to be saved and loved is prevalent and consuming.  I fell in love with Char and his whole mismatched family.  The stories that follow are just as wonderful!!!

Day 3 of the 13 Days of S.A. Price: Knossos West

Happy Hump Day my stalkers!  Welcome to day three of the 13 days of S.A. Price.  We are going to veer off of the 13 shades series and talk about some of her other books instead.  She does various other books that involve demons and rock bands, but this book is one of her shifter series and yes......they shift into snakes.  I like that she splits them up into nests and separates the poisonous ones from the constrictors.  She created a very unique world we are going to dive into it face first!!

"Beyond the Vision of Dreams":

They proved it!   My favorite story was actually Remys'.  He was my kind of dirty and I loved the fact he had no clue if he was dreaming or it was really happening.  Can you imagine a guy wanting you that much he thought it was only possible in his dreams?

Reece was the nest bad boy with a huge chip on his shoulder.  He comes strumming up to his favorite bar expecting a wild night and ended up with a rogue snake...that robbed him!!  That was awesome!!

The baby of the nest gets cornered into visiting the poisonous nest and even though he has no plans to find a mate, is intrigued enough to look.  What that house has in store for him shocks into more than he could bite off.

I liked the little intros into this story, it made me want to read more.  A lot of people are hesitant because it's a snake shifter..but this author made these books fun.  She played on their natural tendencies and took away the weariness that comes from the simple fact that snakes aren't most people's cup of tea.  Hell.. I would definitely be all about these babies!!  Great read!!

Price!!  Today we are going to talk about This is Forever the book but also the awesomeness that is introduced the series via this book.  You got a small glimpse of the Strange Angels lead towards the end of Rhys book, but not enough to prepare yourself for Lady Hotness herself or Winter Tulane.  There is no way you could have come up with a more perfect name for a rock-star than Winter.  

Perfect Name...perfect band groupie shirt!!  Yes I have one...don't hate.  Without further adieu lets take a look at This is Forever:

The one woman Winter Tulane loved and lost is back, and he is determined to have her again, gracing his bed, filling his days and owning his heart. A joint tour with both 13 Shades of Red and her band, Strange Angels, is not the most optimal way to get her back, what with the actual working and pitfalls of the road to contend with, but Winter is determined to show her that what they had was good… and could be again.

True, the joint tour with his band was her idea, but having an issue such as she does is not conducive to rekindling an affair. And a peek inside!!

Seeing Lola after eight months was a fucking kick in the teeth. She had changed her hair, it was purple with black streaks, and she was wearing one fucker of an outfit. Platform Mary Jane’s, her signature, purple torn fishnet thigh-highs with garters that ended in bows with skulls on them, micro mini in black satin with a lace trim. She had tripled up on her belts, her little baby tee molding to her torso like a second skin. It was razor cut in places, showing skin and the purple of her lace bra. Her arms warmers were knitted with little skulls on them. He was pretty sure she wasn’t wearing underwear, the girl just loved to shock. Dare he think it was for his benefit? Winter wasn’t sure he even saw her, thinking he was dreaming the perfection before him. 

But dreams don’t blow you off… at least his didn’t. His dreams, of her especially, blew him. When dreams blew you off, those were called nightmares, and those sucked. Sucked like life was sucking right now. She walked in with the rest of her band, greeted everyone but him, her gaze lingering a little too long on Colin, Rhys’s little brother, but then moved on as she kissed cheeks and hugged people.

 He had to adjust his groin, discreetly of course, when she and Saffron hugged and snuggled. Apparently over the past several months Saffron and Lola had become quite the BFF, with Lola staying at Saffron’s place in New York when she had to go in for several shoots and such. Rhys had teased him about getting face timed and seeing both of them in little booty shorts and white tank tops… but he didn’t think they were that close. 

And worse, he didn’t think seeing her all snuggly with Saffron would illicit the images rolling through his head. Not that Saffron wasn’t hot, but he just didn’t dig his best friend’s girl like that.  He grabbed a tootsie pop and unwrapped it, sticking the thick ball into his mouth. He watched her move from person to person, but never to him. 

What. The. Fuck.

When everyone sat down, she sat at the other end of the table, didn’t even bother to look at him. He went through dinner in a blur, his anger getting to him more and more. What the fuck was going on? 

He was beginning to feel like he was invisible. Maybe this was a nightmare? 

When she got up and went to the bathroom, he followed, after exchanging a meaningful look with Rhys. 

“So you’re just not going to say anything to me?” he said as he caught her coming out of the bathroom. 

She looked at him and sighed. “I didn’t want a public thing to happen.”

Public thing? 

He cocked his head and scowled. “And what the fuck does that mean?” 

She looked him up and down. “I don’t know if I’m ready to say hi like I want to.”

Winter rolled his eyes. “So you can wrap yourself around Saffron, eye Colin up like he’s a steak, which by the way he’s not even eighteen yet, eww.” He ticked off points on his fingers as he spoke. 

“Yet you can’t even just turn and wave at me?”

Lola shook her head. “It’s not what I wanted. And Colin is going to be very popular…”

“You just didn’t wanna talk to me at all?” he asked, thoroughly confused. She was the one that pushed for the tour, and by all accounts she didn’t have an issue with their past. It was what gave him hope.

She moved closer and shook her head. “That’s not it.”

“Then what is it?” he bit out, his hands clenched at his sides. Gods, only she could infuriate him like this. Fuck, she smelled good. All honey and warm clover… no one smelled like Lola.

Her voice lowered. “Do you like my outfit, Winter?”

He growled. Fuck yes, he liked her outfit. Loved. Wanted it crumpled on the floor of his bedroom. 

Wanted to peel it from her slowly, kissing every inch of skin he exposed. 

She reached for him, her fingers tugging him closer by the belt loops of his jeans. “Good. You’re supposed to. You don’t get anything from me Winter Tulane. No greeting, no little wave, no explanation. Eat your heart out, baby.”

She got closer, her lips just against his, a slight almost imperceptible move of the hoop through the middle of his lip and then she was gone, back toward the party, her ass shaking with a sashay that had blood rushing from every place in his body to his cock. Fuck. What the hell was going on?

“Hey Lo,” he called after her. She gave him the finger and kept walking. 

Game on. Game fucking on, he thought as he followed her back into the room. Confusion didn’t even convey how he was feeling about what happened, but holy fuck the signals she was throwing off were so convoluted he didn’t know if he should fist pump for getting her so close to him or brood over her words. 

I started with this book.  I was on my way to Atlanta and realized that this was the perfect time to try audible.  I had this book for a while and was dying to get to it. I don't recommend driving with listening to this.  I drove off the highway several time when I got to vested in what was going on!!! You can read this series out of order but you miss out on a lot.  I love how all the stories fit together!  It is what makes it my favorite series (and bands) by her!  I will preface this for people that have never used audible:  When you go to read the book...it will be that guys/girls voice in your head instead of your own!

This is a story about second chances.  Reconnecting with the one youve always loved and realizing you don't want to live without each other.  What began as a whirlwind romance when they were younger, turned into something much more fulfilling now that they were older.

I loved so many things about this book.  The names..the band's themselves...Stoli and Gatsby...the sex scenes and the scenarios themselves ( especially the bathroom sink scene).  The paranormal aspects of the story make the story.  It's an amazing steamy read that you can really feel and I loved it!  The series is completely amazing!!
