Day 3 of the Ten Days of Giveaways with guest post T. Lynne Tolles and Giveaway of her recent novel Blood Lust

Welcome to Day 3 of this wonderful event and I have here with me today the fabulous author T. Lynne Tolles.  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I'm thrilled you could make it.  Stay tuned after the post for the giveaway details!  So T...your up!!!  LOL!!

CEWTNK Thank you so much for the invite to your blog.  Looks like things here are really hoppin’ with lots blog tour stops and the “Man Candy Monday”. I must say that was worth a second look (or three or four…giggles).

This is my first blog tour and I’m really nervous. When I was asked to do a guest post, I had no idea what I was supposed to do so I asked Liz at Coffee Bean and Love Scenes Promotions, for a little advice. She suggested coming up with a little something about the series that readers might want to know.

I thought what I would do is share with you a little about why I wrote the series.  So here goes nothing.

My teenage daughter was about to enter high school and she was feeling a bit apprehensive and awkward about the transition. Though she is shy and quiet, she is an amazing artist. I had suggested that she make a graphic novel from her art and come up with some cool story for it. She thought this, like most suggestions from me, was ludicrous.

I had spent much of the very wet spring reading a pile books and had read an article about Ellen Schreiber (Author of the Vampire Kisses series) and how she had been a stand up comic until someone had suggested to her that she write a book. It dawned on me that the best way to show my daughter that even the ridiculous can be done, was for her to see me do it first hand.  Several weeks later Blood of a Werewolf was done.

I was nervous at first to share the book, but knew I had to bypass my phobias for my daughter to do the same. I took a deep breath and started passing around the book to friends and family to which I was getting really great suggestions and feedback about the story itself. Before I finished Blood of a Werewolf, I had pages and pages of notes for a sequel and even more notes for possible story turns for the future.

In the end, a silly thought to help my daughter turned into a five book series Though my daughter has not written that graphic novel as of yet, hopefully I’ve made what seemed to be a ludicrous idea once, a possibility for her in the future.

Lovin my Man Candy Mondays *sigh* Don't be nervous!  We are all friendly here, as long as Sasha doesn't show up again :)  T Lynne will be popping in and out today so if you have any comments or questions please post them and she will get back to you.  So I know I know...you said giveaway right?  On with the goods Nikki :)  So up for grabs on my blog today is a PDF copy of Bloodlust!

A surprise visit from Blake and Devon's uncle, Dominic, demanding both vampires, come home immediately to find what is ailing his son Anton, puts everyone on edge. Can vampires get sick? Devon doesn't appreciate Dominic's demands, but agrees to fly back to Connecticut with Darby, since Blake has a job to finish up in California.

Excited to meet more of Devon's family, Darby is confused by Devon's distance and coldness since Dominic's visit. In Connecticut, this only gets worse when a gorgeous Libby, Anton's estranged wife, shows up unexpectedly and seems to have her sights set on Devon. To top it all off, there's seems to be some pent up animosity, Anton and Devon have towards each other.

What is this strange power Libby has over the men in this family? And what's wrong with poor Anton? Why does it seem that Anton and Devon hate each other? These are all questions Darby sets out to answer in this third volume of the Blood Series.

Sounds like a fabulous read!  I can't wait to check it out! So...to enter you must be a follower of this blog and leave an email address with a comment.

I have to say that when I was your daughter's age I would have thought the same thing. But then again you have authors like Christopher Paolini (Eragon series) who wrote his book when he was 15. I love art but I don't see myself as a graphic novel type person. I'm thinking about actually doing a children's picture book.
Do you see yourselg writing another series after this one (since you state having 5 in this series)? Do you think that you would write something different than vampires? What made you choose to write a book with vampires in it?

I'm not a huge graphic novel person either, but then I never really got into comic books as a kid either. Personally I don't really care what she does, I just want her to not be afraid to try something.
As for writing, I am in the development stages of writing another series based on a witch that finds a hellhound pup and raises it - kind of like a scary looking Marmaduke meets Sabrina the teenage witch. I'm still toying with it and working out the details and foundations. So far I have a witch, a hellhound, a fallen angel, demon, a dragon and a vampire who will be pertinent characters that come and go.
I had to throw the vampire thing in there. I'm way to obsessed with vampire not to have at least one in the story.
Thanks for the questions Jessica! Have a great day!

I think that the idea to help your daughter is inspiring and I would hope to be able to do something like that for my own kids.

Hi and thanks for a very good first blog post! I'm not surprised that your daughter poo-pooed your idea of a graphic novel. At that age, there was nothing my mother could say or suggest that I thought was a good idea. It comes with the territory, right? I'm a GFC follwer as MJB and by email.

I love the reason why you wrote your books: to get over a phobia. There's a lesson in that for all of us :)
