Review: Troll-y Yours by Sheri Fredricks

SHE TAKES A CHANCE.

Determined to forge a better life, Ella launches her new business with high hopes—until a sexy Centaur bumps into her and throws her life off course forever. Voted “Most Eligible Bachelor in Boronda”, Aleksander shakes up her world and tilts her in more ways than one.

HE’S IN DANGEROUS TERRITORY.

Years of warfare and countless bedroom encounters have stolen Kempor Aleksander’s luster for life. He never expects to rediscover his zeal in the small, redheaded form of Ella the Troll, who fires his blood hotter than the deepest caverns in the forest.

But as trouble lingers in their midst—and edges ever closer—Alek and Ella spiral into troubled terrain. Turning to each other, the pair face down dangers that run impenetrably deep in their mythological world. But will the two lovers discover a passion that runs even deeper?

I have read countless books, but none will a beginning quite like this little treasure of a book!  It seems our playboy captain of the guards has become....a little less than thrilled about his between the sheet action.  Let's just say it definitely struck not only my funny bone, but the irony of the situation was far from lost on me.  Those of us that read book one got a little peek at luscious Aleksander, but you do not need to read the first book to follow along in this one.  It does give a little more detail into the behind the scenes about the struggles that kingdom is going through in book 1, so you would be armed with not only another great read but insight before beginning this one.

Ella is our heroine in this book.  She is beyond done with living with her parents and dressing in hand-me downs.  She wants a rock of her own somewhere and is determined to remove herself from underneath her family's hateful thumb. She doesn't believe she is entitled to a happily ever-after, but that isn't going to stop her from helping others. With this determination is born Troll-y Yours...the speed dating service guaranteed to produce the mythic of your dreams. Carving her way into the world by helping others meet their mates seems a sure-fire way of making her way in the world.  What she didn't count on is bumping into Alek, and how he could change the outlook on her life.

The reason I feel in love with this series is because it truly something you can't find anywhere.  You have mythic races that are seldom touched by authors, who are now part of the romance world.  The author has brilliantly worked around possible awkward situations by inventing rules that just make these romances sizzle.  But not only does she do a magnificent job in the world-building, she also makes the characters come alive with her writing.  The arrogance, the love, the awkwardness, innocence, passion, is deliciously displayed and so real you can almost touch it.  Sheri has definitely made her mark in the mythology romance genre, and I cannot wait for this series to continue.  Hat's off the you Sheri Fredricks for writing something you love, instead of something that is popular.  You have truly made a fan of this reviewer!!

That is cool that she chose a different set of paranormals for her books. Sounds good!
