Troll-y Yours Speed Date (Hour 12) with Kate Douglas!!

Let's dip into the magical realm...How about a drool-worthy wizard?

Name:  Sebastian Xenakis,
Age: 39
Race:  A wizard who has studied under his rather distant yet powerful father, a man who practices dark magic and wants his son to follow him in the black arts.
Height/Weight:  He’s tall and lean at 6’5” and around 200 pounds
Eye/Hair Color:  Teal Blue with Black Hair

The Sexy Low-down:
Sebastian fights his father’s influence, fights the darkness, yet he craves more knowledge. It’s a slippery slope for a young wizard with a powerful inborn talent.

I write about some pretty sexy guys, and it’s not just looks we’re talking about. They’re smart and funny and they know exactly how to treat women—especially the one woman they find out of all the others, the one who makes them feel as if they’ve finally come home. I think my current favorite is Sebastian Xenakis from Dark Wolf, the first book in my Spirit Wild series.

He’s got that swimmer’s build, or maybe a runner’s—you know the kind with broad shoulders, long , lean yet muscular arms and legs, big hands with long fingers and long bony feet. The kind of build that tells you he was probably all angles and elbows when he was a teenager, still growing into the adult perfection you see today.

His hair is dark, almost black, and he wears a very short, neatly trimmed beard and mustache. He’s got a fascinating happy trail that leads to...well, let’s just say he’s a big man and he’s ALL in proportion...and I’ll leave it at that. A truly distinguishing feature is the color of his eyes—they’re a brilliant teal blue—but let me give you Lily Cheval’s first impression of him—

Her entire focus was on Sebastian. Never had a man filled her senses the way he filled them now. His hair was crisp and dark, almost black, with a noticeable widow’s peak. He wore a neatly trimmed beard that perfectly framed a mouth she wanted to savor. His skin was tan—not as dark as hers, but definitely not the pale shade of a man who spent his days indoors.
No, Sebastian Xenakis was a creature of nature. She sensed that in him. Sensed his wildness, his love of freedom, his strength.
And something more. Something she’d not expected.
She sensed his magic. It was as much a part of him as Lily’s was of her. He was magic. He wore it like a second skin, the inborn magic of a true wizard.

When I was writing Sebastian, getting to know his character, the one thing that kept showing up was his natural empathy, his compassion for others, and his respect for the people around him. He’s suspected of committing some truly heinous crimes, but he’s such a good man you know that he can’t be guilty. At least, like Lily, you hope he’s innocent, no matter how many clues seem to point his way.

Chanku shapeshifters are known for their personal integrity, their sense of honor and their devotion to the pack. Sebastian isn’t part of the pack, and yet he gives his loyalty where he feels it’s deserved. He is an honorable man, and that sense of honor makes him, at least in my opinion, a truly sexy man. A real keeper. If you haven’t read Dark Wolf, I hope you’ll  give this book a try. It’s exciting and a wonderful introduction to the world of Chanku shapeshifters, if you’ve not read any of the Wolf Tales series. You don’t need to have read those books to enjoy Dark Wolf, though you might want to, after reading this one! You can read a first chapter excerpt at my website—it’s in the erotic romance section, so adults only, please. Go to http://www.katedouglas.com/eroticromance/id78.htm and scroll down past the review snips to get to the chapter. Feel free to poke around the entire site—I’ve got first chapters up for over fifty of my novels and novellas.

The first werewolf I fell for of another author would be Graham Winters in 'Fur Factor' by Christine Warren in 2003. Of Kate Douglas' books, her first werewolf I fell for was Anton Cheval in 'Wolf Tales'.

I haven't fallen for one yet. I'd like to, though. Thanks!

Garrick Blackthorn from Bad to the Bone by Vivi Anna. He just has that...edge, that attitude, but also an air of cool reservedness, like he knows what the outcome will be but is waiting patiently for others to figure it out. Sigh...now I want to read that book again!!!

Lon Chaney, Jr.? I can't believe I just said that!

Shifters/weres are not my normal fare (and I'm ashamed to say that I've never got around to reading Patricia Briggs), so maybe it'll be Sebastian?
