Review: Hostile Territory by D.N. Simmons

Hostile Territory is the fourth novel in the edgy, action-packed, sexually charged Knights of the Darkness Chronicles. In this installment, be prepared for the ultimate supernatural adventure! It's no holds barred in this tale and there's going to be hell to pay! A single orchestrated attack initiates a hunt unlike Darian and his friends have ever encountered. You really don't want to miss out. The ante has been upped and they are out for blood! This book has been previously published and has been substantially revised and enhanced from its original release.
My Review:
I have read the entire series, and I must say, you can really read them as stand alones, but it is so much sweeter to read the series as a whole.  You get to see the characters as they change and grow.  In this book we are revisited by the rest of the players in the original plot to claim Darian's territory.  It seems there was more than met the eye going on in book 1.  It did hint at it, but the plot as a whole was a complete surprise.  The mansion was attacked, the packs shot at, and loved ones were kidnapped.  These individuals were leaving nothing to chance.
We are introduced to an unlikely hero, who started out as an enemy.  This book concentrated was more plot-driven then romance based.  We had a lot more action and fewer sex scenes.  This brings all of our characters that much closer together, resembling more and more a huge family rather than individual units. It is really a well written series, and it draws you in as you become more attached to the characters.  I'm going to be sad to see this story end!!!
