Well that title says alot because I know I like it like that!! LOL!! Good Morning and welcome to this stop on Christine's tour!! I was lucky enough to snag a quick interview with her, as she broke out the handcuffs and tried to cuff and leave me...but she didn't know that I also carried and mine were bigger..lol!! So I won by intimidation and she gave us some greatinsight into her self and her new release!! Take it away Christine:
How old were you when you first realized you wanted to write?
I don’t recall the exact age, but it hit me young. I was in elementary school when I won an essay contest titled “What Makes America Beautiful to Me.” From there I won a young author’s award for a book I’d written and a few other essay contests. I’ve always been an avid reader, writer and storyteller.
Tell us a little bit about the book.
Some Like it in Handcuffs is a sexy, light-hearted romantic suspense with humor. Sunny Kennedy is a private investigator who is inexperienced in her profession and in matters of the heart. Judson Blackwolf is a seasoned detective who is leery about getting involved with the sexy daughter of his captain. Together they learn they have to overcome their differences and prejudices against each other to solve a cold case, and manage it all while they control their growing attraction.
What made you choose this genre?
I love romance in general and throw in a bit of suspense and I’m hooked. I love contemporary romance as well and write both genres.
Most authors have an unusual story or way that they come up with their ideas for books…Do you have one?
LOL…For Some Like it in Handcuffs I actually came up with the title first. From those 5 words I developed characters, plots and scenes. I generally come up with storylines or ideas while I’m driving or people watching…which I love.
What is the key element in your character creation?
I love sassy heroines and strong heros…both with humor!
What was your biggest influence that steered you towards writing?
I’d always wanted to write, but have to say that my sister was the encouraging force. When I had doubts she didn’t, and she has always pushed me to go for it!
I have to ask, what are the hardest scenes for you to write?
I’m lucky. I enjoy writing all different types of scenes, but do admit that I also have to be in the mood. If I’m working on a love scene and I’m not in the mood to write something so intense, I can’t do it. Same with a fight scene, both of those take a lot of emotion and the moon and stars have to align just right before I can get words down that work.
Are sex scenes difficult for you to word?
Not really. The first one I wrote was a bit awkward, it felt like a narrative…lol…but the more you write the easier it gets and the more natural it sounds. Now I look forward to them. I like to put my characters in different places and see what I come up with J
Do you see yourself writing in another genre?
Well, right now I write light-hearted romantic suspense and contemporary romance…and I love those genres. I have kicked around writing something more erotic…so we’ll see. Stay tuned *wink*
Has your family been supportive?
My kids think it’s pretty cool, my husband is quietly supportive (a man of few words at all times…lol) but my sister and daughter have been my biggest fans and cheerleaders.
Are any of your characters reflective of you?
I think there is a little bit of me in all my characters. I draw on things from my past when writing emotion and I pick up habits or quirks from those around me or myself J
What do you like to do when you're not writing?
I love to read, though I don’t have the time like I did once. I enjoy cooking and experimenting while cooking, I love to travel and once in awhile I enjoy adding a few new plants or flowers to my landscaping J
Who is your favorite book heroine?
Ooohh…I don’t’ think I can pick just one. I love a sassy heroine that is smart and flawed…she may show the world her strong side, but inside she’s soft and wants love and romance…like most real women J
Do you have any unusual habits that revolve around writing?
Not really. I prefer my writing time to be quiet…I’m too easily distracted if I have music on, or people around me talking. I wish I could write in chaos, but I can’t.
What is you favorite mystical creature?
Unicorns!!!! I love Unicorns!!
What were some of your biggest challenges at the beginning of your career?
LOL…letting the backstory stay in the back. I tended to start off with backstory for the first chapter or so…but quickly learned to drop it in throughout the story in layers. I think a lot of authors are guilty of that.
I also struggled (and sometimes still do) with that dratted comma….grrr
How do you feel about reader comments?
I love them. I don’t think they should ever come in a way to be mean, but helpful or educational. Writing is a never ending learning process and if you can get some constructive advice from a reader or another author, then you’re lucky that they took the time to want to see you improve. But again, it really should come across in a helpful way, not demeaning J
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Definitely…read and study up on the craft by following other author and agent blogs, buy books on craft and for sure join a critique group. I can’t even begin to tell you all that I’ve learned from other amazing writers!
Where are your books available?
What can we expect from you in the future?
Well, I have 2 books coming out this summer. Two-Timing the Boss is a contemporary romance releasing on August 24th with The Wild Rose Press. I also have another contemporary romance releasing this summer (release date pending) with Entangled Publishing and their Indulgence Line titled Blind Date Billionaire.
I have another contemporary romance that I recently submitted and am waiting to hear back on…and I just started a new contemporary romance titled 30 Day Wager J (excited to start a new project…woot woot!)

I love to hear from readers and other authors!
I’d love to share a quick blurb and excerpt from Some Like it in Handcuffs:
Sunny Kennedy is a fledgling private investigator and the only girl in a family of protective male detectives. She’s out to prove testosterone isn’t the main qualification required to solve a cold case. The only things standing in her way are a sexy detective and a killer who will stop at nothing to keep a secret.
Judson Blackwolf, a seasoned homicide detective, thinks women in law enforcement should work behind the scenes. The prospect of working with his Captain’s sexy daughter doesn’t thrill him.
But when their investigation takes a dangerous turn, they realize their feelings for each other, tangled in a web from the past, might not be the only thing to keep them apart.
Excerpt:
“This isn’t how I wanted it between us.” Judson grabbed the neckline of her sweater, dragging her body to meet his with a solid thump. Sunny licked her lips in answer to the question in his eyes. He lowered his head to move his mouth over hers.
Sunny closed her eyes, a small whimper escaping her lips. She didn’t want it like this either, but that wasn’t possible. Unable to resist her attraction she accepted it wasn’t an affair, or a long distance romance she craved, but for him to love her back. It was all or nothing for her. Her heart sank. She accepted this as their goodbye kiss.
With no thought to what was happening upstairs, Sunny rose up on her toes demanding more. Her lips pulsated against Judson’s. When his hand trembled against her cheek in a soft caress she lost touch with reality.
“Judson.” Sunny’s weakened body drifted farther into Judson’s as his fingers glided down her arms, pulling them to her sides where their fingers intertwined. He forced them behind her before his tongue thrust into her mouth.
Their bodies molded together, she heard her own heartbeat and his as well when he curved his fingers around her rear and squeezed.
That’s when the click of the handcuffs against her wrist connected her to the handle of the locked cupboard.
“What the hell…Judson?” She looked up at him, her knees shook, her body still inflamed with fever.
“Like I was saying, you wait here and I’ll go upstairs to check it out. Backup’s already been called, so you’re safe until your brothers arrive.” Judson winked before walking toward the steps to the third level. Once he reached them he turned toward her and smiled. “Gotcha,” he whispered with his notorious grin.
