Giveaway and Guest Post for The Unspun Trilogy!!

Aww the Fates!  Throughout time we have cursed them, cried, lived and died because of them, and now its their turn!!  So, if you were a single Fate...What kind of add would you run in the paper?  Something like this?

Creating Fate
Wanted a man that won't die. A hero that won't lie. And a father that won't keep me out of Olympus. My name is Clotho, Chloe to the mortals, and I'm trying my hardest to get through each day. I like soft music, warm bubble baths, and an easy pace. I'm suffering from a broken heart, but if you know of someone worthy, I'll definitely give him a shot. Oh, and he has to be immortal. No dying allowed. Been there, done that.

Stealing Fate
Hey, I'm Lachesis. A bad-ass Fate. I do what I want, when I want. And I have no regrets. Except for one itty bitty one... I may have ticked off the yummy god of Terror somewhere along the line. Oops.

Chasing Fate
Tortured goddess seeking a lighthearted and adventurous hottie who knows how to make the most of downtime. I'm Atropos, a.k.a. Attie, and I carry a very big knife. It's a job requirement. What's a girl to do? I like circus music, romantic comedies, and free diving from cliffs. My life is full of tragedy, so if you know of anyone who can help me escape, send him my way. Side note: A little muscle and tousled hair would definitely help his cause.

LOL!  Let's take a closer look at this trilogy!!

She gave away her heart…
Giving her heart to a mortal wasn't something the First Fate planned. Losing him nearly shattered her soul. Upon his death, Clotho swore never to love—or weave life—again. Hoping she'll change her mind before it's too late, Zeus commands the spinner of life to take a much needed vacation from her immortal responsibilities.

He had to hide his...
Dane is close to cracking the drug ring he's spent the last two years infiltrating, but needs to perform one last heist to meet the head man and prevent an impending war. An undercover agent, he’s now on the run from drug lords, thieves and with the very woman whose tears make him forget his purpose.

Together they’ll find a way back from the dark.
Chloe will have to put her trust in the man she believes may have killed her fiance, or face an eternity on Earth. Without the desire for life, hope could slip through the cracks of time if he doesn’t love away her sorrow.

She stole his fate…

Lachesis is a Fate, an ancient goddess in whose hands our destinies are unraveled. When she’s not weaving fortune, she does what she wants when she wants. That all changes when she runs into the man she craves but prayed to never see again. And she'll soon discover the god of terror can really hold a grudge.

Now it’s his turn…

The most frightening of gods, Phobos is a predator who takes pleasure in terrorizing the world. After millennia of relentless searching, he finds the Fate who caused him to be cast down from Olympus. Now he plans to use every bit of his talents on the goddess to regain his lost heritage without losing his heart in the process

Destiny. Some will do anything to change it. Even hunt down the spinners of fate.

The Fates are said to control our destinies. From our first breath to our dying gasp, these creatures of legend weave the courses of our lives. Even the gods are subject to their decrees. Spinners of dark secrets, the Fates have been feared for the tragedies they weave. No man dared confront the Relentless Ones . . . until now.

CHASING FATE

She is forced to kill . . .

When a much-needed vacation turns into work for the third Fate, Atropos vows to sever the mortal’s lifeline quickly and get back to the sea and sand. Having her mysterious quarry offer a deal in exchange for more time is an unexpected complication. Always surrounded by darkness and death, Attie takes a chance to get a taste of life and help right a wrong that never should have happened.

Sarah, thank you for stopping by! Actually, Elle and Berinn came up with the idea and asked me aboard. We'll have to ask them in a bit. :)

MaryLynn, I hadn't thought about it, but it would be fun to play with Dane and Chloe some more. I think they still have plenty of issues that needed resolved, lol.

Vanessa, to tell you the truth, Elle and Berinn really made research easy on this. Those ladies had this mythology stuff down and really helped me along. I'm not as big on research and tend to keep my settings very contemporary, but yes, we did have to know the basics.

Ummm...since there are three separate authors, I don't know that any of us really struggled. The hardest part of the story was making sure everything worked together. I had the first book, so I had to make sure the introduction worked for all three of the fates. Elle and Berinn did an amazing job taking my lead and making sure that the stories all flowed the way that they should have. We're an awesome team! :)

I have to say that Chasing Fate sounds very interesting :)
Great story line to write about. How hard was it for 3 different voices to write a trilogy?

If I were to enjoy your series, what other books or series of books would you recommend I read afterwards?

Sounds like a great series! Did you find that it was easier to work together to develop the story?

Are you going to work together on another project?

I...I...I am stumped!! I rather read the books and seek out answers through them.

Elle J Rossi said...

Good morning wicked peeps! So glad to see everyone here.

The Fates, the Fates, the Fates! What an adventure, what a ride.

I thnk I can speak for all three of us when I say we had a blast writing these stories. Yes, there was definitely research to be done, but this type of research I enjoy. Greek gods and goddesses? Oh yeah!

Berinn and Rachel made it super easy to keep track of everyone's storylines, especially since each one of these novellas act as a standalone.

The Fates are sexy, tortured, brave, angry, determined and strong willed. I think we all have a little of each Fate within us.

I hope you enjoy the Unspun series!

Debi Murray said...

Were you ladies writing the books simultaneously or did you each wait until the book before yours was finished?

I find the premise of the three Fates intriguing. Great idea!

Sounds like a great series I will be adding them to my TBR!! How did you decide who would write each book?

Did each author write each boo individually or did you guys collaborate constantly?

These sound great. Do you have any plans to write about werewolves or zombies?

Crystal said...

The books sound amazing! What is your biggest inspiration in writing these books?

Elle J Rossi said...

So many fantastic questions! I'll try to answer some of them.

We wrote the books simultaneously and constantly emailed each other during the process. I swear we have about a hundred emails per day!

Berinn actually had the idea to write about the Fates. I'm so glad she asked Rachel and I to join her. She could have just kept them all to herself.

Personally, I would love to work on another project with Berinn and Rachel. We all really clicked. We've got a couple of ideas marinating and just need to find the time to make it happen!

I'm so glad you liked the covers! These lovely ladies allowed me to design them. We all had input which really helped to make them pop!

Keep the questions coming and we'll hop over as often as we can!

vadeluna07 said...

This is the first time I've seen a book centered on the Fates. What made you decide to write about them?

Ciara said...

This looks like one AMAZING trilogy. I've been excited since the first time I saw it announced.

Sebrina said...

How did you all decide who to write about? I'll admit I was sorta stumped for a minute when I first got over here, b/c I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before....and I think it's rather cool.
Thank you so much for the introduction to what sounds like a great series! And for a chance at the giveaway!

Elle J Rossi said...

Sebrina,

That is a GREAT question. I snatched up Atropos as fast as I could. I've been told I have a black heart. Personally, I take that as a compliment. I like dark and tortured characters. For some reason I relate to them. Atropos (Attie) is the Death Fate. You can't get much more tortured than that!

Lisa Richards/alterlisa said...

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?

Great review Nikki! I am definitely putting these on my TBR list.

Question for the girls:
Did you each work on the books collaboratively or was it each your own story and just made into a trilogy?

Was it hard writing the books together to make it a trilogy?

Kelly said...

Sounds fantastic..
How do you come up with your characters?

Kelly said...

Since I haven't read the series yet, do you just cut the string to end their life like I have seen and read??? Or some other way?

Dovile said...

Should the three books be read as they were written, or are they stand-alone novels?

Elle J Rossi said...

Dovile,

You can read in any order!

Elle J Rossi said...

Ah, yes, Kelly. Snip-snip! It's actually quite sad in most cases.

PamM said...

Since most of the questionshave been asked I will ask this. Would you rather vacation in a cabin in the woods or a condo on the beach? These books sound amazing.

Elle J Rossi said...

Cabin in the woods, Pam! A very cozy cabin!

S.A. said...

Questions for the girls:

1) How did the three of you meet?
2) How long did it take to write the trilogy?

Rachel said...

How did you all celebrate when the trilogy was finished?

Author Susan Griscom said...

What an awesome idea. Like others, I want to know how you all decided to do this. Did you come up with the Fate titles first and then each pick one? I definitely want to read all three.

Unknown said...

Wow, what an overwhelming response. You guys are great! I think we just said you take this fate, now you take this one, lol. The covers came after our outlines and we all wrote the books at about the same time. With about a thousand emails to make sure they all worked, lol.

I met Berinn through the author loop for Crescent Moon Press, and Elle was B's bestie. I'm so glad they pulled me in to their huddle. So much fun!

I saw someone ask if these were stand alones, yes! You should be able to read each one separately.

Kelly, Attie cuts the thread of life--of course, there is usually an illness or murderer that gets blamed. But, really it's fates will.

I didn't realize that there were already three books in the series! The concept is so neat. I have added them to the wish list. Thanks for sharing! Thanks for the giveaway!

Vinci said...

Where did you get the idea for the covers of your interesting sounding books? Looks like my kind of books
great giveaway too.

Elle J Rossi said...

@Sharon, 2 of the Fates have a short scene with a bit of interaction, but other than that, they are totally on their own. That's part of the problem. They're always with each other, always able to rely on one another. Now they've quite literally been separated and tossed out of Olympus!

Elle J Rossi said...

Anna, I don't think there will be more Fates unless they pop up in someone else's story. The only thing I would change about this would be to make them all full-lengths. I absolutely fell in love with all these characters. It was incredibly hard to wrap them up and send them on their way.

Elle J Rossi said...

Vinci, regarding the covers... We had a big discussion about the direction we wanted to go. I have a thing for bright red lips. I just had to give each Fate red lips to tie it all together. Especially when Rachel showed me her take on Clotho. That pretty much sealed the deal. Add some hawtness into the background and some razzle dazzle around the title, and I'm pretty sure we all fell in love. I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these covers!

Laurie said...

I love the covers and the books sound great! I also love Greek mythology, do you have a favorite god you'd like to write about?

books4me said...

Now that you finished the Fates series, what's next on the writing block?

Steph said...

What were some of the books that were most inspirational for you when writing this series (or writing in general)?

Mary Preston said...

How did you decide who wrote what?

Unknown said...

Ah, you guys have just made my day! As far as how we picked, Elle was meant for Death. I mean that in the best possible way. It fits her writing style with the deep dark depth. I write a sad character really good, so Chloe fit me well. And well, Berinn's quite perfect for Lacie.

What's next for me. I'm working on a couple of different vamp books. I just can't stay away from them, lol.

I think I'd like to write a book from Zeus and his POV. He's a natural playboy. Yum! :)
